St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's (Day) Eve,

What are you all doing tomorrow to celebrate this great Irish (American) holiday? I will be up at 5, heading to Ashley's around 5:30 for breakfast and of course, for some delicious Irish stouts. As a senior, I feel that drinking tomorrow will be more important than paying attention to the 2 of 3 classes I will drunkenly stumble into.

Have a great day!

Q: Why did the (Ohio) State grad leave his diploma on his dashboard? A: So he could use handicapped parking.

Plan on going over there and doing some grilling. Other than that, I ain't doing shit, as St. Patrick's Day becomes worthless when you quit drinking...Although, I will be smoking lots of green stuff. I might even have a side of potatoes with dinner. (If that isn't holiday spirit, then I don't know what is)

I remember we stayed up all night, and a frat brother who had falled asleep and had a penis drawn on his face with marker was interviewed by the local tv station.

Slainte!

In school, wearing a tie was my visual breathmint. If I had taken the time to look nice, there's no way I could be drunk on St. Patty's. Odds are I had an interview or something.

Now I have to wear a tie every day, and since I'm not teaching science it would be weird for my room to smell like a distillery. Fond memories will addle my brain until I can get properly sloshed in the evening, like an upstanding member of the tax-paying segment of society.

Either youth is wasted on the young, or the young are really wasted.

Maybe it's just me, but the concept of waking up early to drink seems really odd. Drinking is all about taking it easy. Getting up early and being sleep-deprived seems like it would detract from the drinking, IMO. (Of course, I had to go to work so it was never an option.)

When I was in college a few years ago, some kid came to a lecture class in Angell Hall drunk on St. Patrick's Day. He talked loudly the entire time and answered his phone during the lecture, in which there were about 300 people.

I wanted to punch him in the dong.
