Spring Game: Maize or Blue?
The annual most important question of today.
Maize or Blue?
The athletic department is not releasing the full rosters online per the SID (I emailed and asked about it).
Here is the list of players that we know are on what team per their social media posts/WTKA.
Blue - Head Coach Jedd Fisch
- Shane Morris
- John O'Korn
- Devin Bush
- Taco Charlton
- Maurice Hurst
- Jon Runyan, Jr.
- Bryan Mone
- Chris Wormley
- Matt Godin
- Ben Braden
- Erik Magnuson
- Kyle Kalis
- Grant Newsome
Maize - Head Coach Don Brown
- Ahmir Mitchell
- Wilton Speight
- Channing Stribling
- Mike McCray
- Grant Perry
- Brandon Peters
- Jourdan Lewis
- Ty Isaac
- Mason Cole
- Khalid Hill
- Sean McKeon
- Jake Butt
- Lawrence Marshall
Maize is stacked and if they have Peppers, that may be too much. However, Blue has 4 of 5 starting OL.
I say Blue wins 21-20. Maize misses the 2pt conversion to win the game on the final drive.

No clue why they won't release the rosters.
Unless some people are missing or injured, I don't see what opposing teams can take from who was drafted to what team.
Not to mention the talent on the DL: Hurst, Wormley, Mone, Charton, and Godin. That is an insanely strong group that only has to get past one starting OL (Cole)...we are not deep at OL this year.
Based on these lists, I'll take Blue, who looks stronger in the trenches.
This is a real Sophie's Choice type situation here.
Most of first team DL on Blue therefore I pick Blue.
I'm not sure I ever heard the final answer on this: Who actually picked the rosters and what was the criteria used to make the choices?
Don Brown (Maize) and Jedd Fisch (Blue) are the head coaches. They held a draft at Oosterbaan last week.

Did they just pick round-robbin? These rosters look a little bit too "seeded" for that.
It's hard to believe that Don Brown went 20 picks deep without picking more than one starting OL. I don't care what side of the ball he is used to coaching.
I just want to see how some players look. I'll go 3-2 Blue.
4-2 Blue
There are too many guys unaccounted for to make a prediction:
-Jabrill Peppers
-DeVeon Smith
-Amara Darboh
-Drake Harris
-Ian Bunting
-Ty Wheatley, Jr.
That is too much talent to make a determination without knowing how it is allocated.
EDIT: Just noticed that Blue has no RBs on that list. Having Kareem Walker vs. DeVeon Smith is a big deal.
If I had a choice, I'd like the see the Spring Game be the #1 Offense / #2 Defense against the #1 Defense / #2 Offense.
1s vs. 1s and 2s vs. 2s.
but maybe this early it's too soon to be labelling guys as 1 or 2? (in the spirit of healthy competition for starting jobs you don't want those #1 guys getting content?)
PROVE ME WRONG SPEIGHT

Why is Drevno not the Blue team coach?
But why? Wouldn't OC vs. DC make more sense than Passing Coordinator vs. DC?

This was all designed to fuck with us on April Fools Day.
Make it look like Speight is the designated #1 QB . . . and then have him get torn up by the starting DL facing the second string OL. Epic paranoid fanbase troll.
Hey, even Harbaugh gets bored.
Has anyone seen the rules for the spring game? ie how close it will be to an actual game versus a series of scrimmage plays?
Y'all know I'm rolling with the Maize.
Living in Brittany, so I can't get the B1G.
Where are you in Bretagne? I spent about two weeks in Vannes.
How did you enjoy your stay?
It was great - I was 14, and I loved it. I saw a soccer game in Rennes and we went to Quiberon and Mont St. Michel.
This is why the cliches about winning the line of scrimmage exist. I'll take Blue.
Team with the better OL wins I'd guess.
Maize should wear all maize, blue should wear all blue uniforms...auction them off and all proceeds go to #ChadTough and don't TOUCH the uniforms during the regular season or postseason.
Pretty good and even split. Peters will see some time under center.
BECAUSE IT'S TEA LEAVES, MAN!
How else are we going to know that our QBs are not ready for Ohio State unless we watch the Spring Game?

I thought you'd be updating this list as the day went on my man
