ANN ARBOR -- The 2014 Mott Spring Game presented by PNC Bank in partnership with University of Michigan Athletics will be held at Michigan Stadium on Saturday, April 5, at 2 p.m. The men's lacrosse team will host Fairfield in the "Battle at the Big House" immediately after the spring game, with action tentatively slated to start at 4:30 p.m.

Both events are free to the public, and Michigan Athletics and U-M C.S. Mott Children's Hospital have teamed up once again to raise funds for the hospital.

The gates to the Big House will open at 11 a.m., as events will surround the football team's final spring practice. The sixth annual alumni flag football game is scheduled to begin at noon, while Team 135 is set to take the field at approximately 1:30 p.m. The Big Ten Network will televise the annual spring game/practice starting at 2 p.m. In addition, the football scrimmage will be broadcast WWJ-AM 950. Following is a list of everything fans need to know about the annual spring game and activities:

Parking: The lots around Michigan Stadium owned and operated by the University of Michigan will be free and open to the public; however, availability in these lots is extremely limited. Pioneer High School will be charging $20 for cars and $80 for RVs on Saturday.

Gates, Restrooms and Concessions: The Michigan Stadium gates will open at 11 a.m., one hour prior to the alumni game. All available restrooms on the lower concourse and main concourse will be open, and concessions will be available at several locations throughout the stadium.

Victors Classic: Former U-M football players will be split into the maize and blue teams and will match wits in the sixth annual alumni flag football game starting at noon. More than 100 former football players from five decades are scheduled to participate.

Kick for Cash: The athletic department will randomly select one fan to attempt field goals with the chance to win a PNC gift card up to $300. The fan will have the opportunity to kick from three different spots -- the goal line, 10- or 20-yard lines -- with varying prizes for each of the three distances.

Big Ten Network Broadcast: Matt Shepard (play-by-play), former Wolverine defensive back Marcus Ray (analyst) and Lisa Byington (field reporter) will broadcast Michigan's spring scrimmage, which will air live at 2 p.m. on Big Ten Network. The network will feature in-game and post-scrimmage interviews with head coach Brady Hoke, assistant coaches and players.

Radio Broadcasts: The Michigan Radio Network will broadcast for two hours during the spring football scrimmage. Jim Brandstatter and Doug Karsch will call the action from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The broadcast can be heard on WWJ-AM 950. Golf Course Sidewalk Sale: The U-M Golf Course will have its annual sidewalk sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday in the clubhouse. The new 2014 merchandise has arrived and last season's selection is up to 40 percent off. All shoppers will be entered into a drawing for a FREE twosome of golf.

Michigan Football Highlights and Interviews: The athletic department's online football recap show will have a complete highlight package and interviews with head coach Brady Hoke and players available on MGoBlue.com following the conclusion of the final practice.

You're telling me that he has no say whatsoever when the spring game starts? I'm aware he has no control over the baseball and softball games but the entire spring game could have been moved up two hours, that way people could have left that game and walked over to the fields and caught one of those two games.

Most who attend the spring game won't go to the baseball and/or softball game -- this blog is a very self-selecting group of diehards who would pay over a grand if a block M sticker were thrown on a turd.  Not to disparge the other sports, but most people who attend the spring game aren't enough of diehard M fans to go to the baseball and softball games.  I'm sure the AD is aware of that.

When will they have an actual scrimmage? I keep hearing they don't have the numbers....C'mon Hoke, you're in year 4, plus there's what 100 guys on the team?

I'm hoping to see a lot of toughness this Saturday.  And execution.

Toughness and execution.

Plus a lot of players playing for MMmmmmmichgian.

Toughness, execution, and play for MMmmmichigan.

You can keep your hard-nosed smashmouth football, physicality and your toughness.  I just want them to be able to play tenacious and gritty man-ball.

I have never been to a spring game and never will go, but I remember driving all the way to Ann Arbor from Cleveland for the day the players sign autographs for people in the stadium. I think this was in 2003 or 2004, but I waited in line for Braylon for about 55 minutes, was about ten spots away from him, and then it started to thunderstorm, so they canceled the rest of the activities....I went there for absolutely nothing. Thankfully I was able to get Braylon to autograph my number 1 blue jersey at Browns summer practice one day in 2007 though.

Happens to everyone. Waited in line for Hoke in 2011 for 2.5 hours only to get cut off by the time the line got the field.

The ebay whores ruin the whole thing, which is why they tried to get them to fuck off by changing it to Youth Day and give the kids first picks by letting them in first.

I couldn't find anything on the rosters for the alumni flag football game, but I think those haven't come out until a day or two beforehand, so I am assuming that is true this year as well. I could have missed something obviously, so if anyone has a link for the curious, that would be a splendid thing to share.

This will be my first time going to the spring game. Any advice? What time does it make sense to arrive? Keep in mind, the group I am going with would like to tailgate a bit beforehand.

I've gone when it was nice out a bunch of people tailgated and it was a great time.  And I've been and sat in the rain in Saline.  And I've gone when it's cold and sat in the car til they opened the gates cause it was to miserable outside.

If it was going to be 60 and sun tomorrow, son and I would be there with the guys at 9am to tailgate a few hours and head into the stadium around noon.  But it's going to be 41 and cloudy tomorrow.  Son and I will get there at 1:30 and watch probably an hour of practice before it's too cold and we bail.

Hash Bash is Saturday too, just so you all are aware. If you're coming with kids you might want to stay south of the main campus area.

football signed by Hoke? What? is he a legend or something?

Don't get me wrong. I like Hoke and all, but I'm not dying to get a football signed by him. Is anyone else?

Does anyone have a link to watch the spring game/practice streaming online? I'm in St. Kitts, don't have easy access to BTN and would love to catch a little of the coverage.
