Spring Game Info

Submitted by Yostbound and Down on

Got an email in my inbox this morning asking for an RSVP to the spring game, along with a quick survey (basically how many people are you bringing).

Here is the info from MGoBlue.com

  • Gates open at 10AM
  • Game will be on BTN, BTN2Go, and radio on 97.1 (I would assume 1050 as well) in SE Michigan. Which, you have no excuse not to be in Ann Arbor. If you'd rather listen from aways away one of their websites or mgoblue.com will have it.
  • There will be prize giveaways per the email I got, I would assume suggested donations would have some free swag associated with it as well, as in the past.

Less than a week away and I can't wait to see what the team looks like!

Edit: assume everyone knows this but admission is free.

I received this as well.  Planning to have a little spring tailgate at Pioneer I think.

By the way:  Have the Maize/ Blue rosters been posted anywhere yet?

They weren't anywhere on MGoBlue, they just have the overall team roster and a "fact sheet" with returning starters, schedule etc.

Very interested to see how the draft shook out. Also, wonder what the coaching situation is going to be like...will it be Harbaugh coaching one squad with Durkin and Drevno coaching another? Anyone have insight on this?

I just followed the link and opened the PDF "quick facts" file and noticed something a little strange.  Why is Jay Harbaugh not listed under the assistant coaches heading?   Just kind of seemed odd to me.  Hopefully they get this fixed.

If the weather is nice, this could set a spring game attendance record. The Harbaugh hype is unbelievable. 70,000 maybe?

I HOPE I'm wrong, but with it being the day before Easter (Easter Weekend) and with all of the public schools and parochial schoolsin the state of Michigan being on Spring Break as of Friday at the bell, and with (I believe) Hash Bash Saturday, I don't see 70,000.

There IS INDEED a ton of enthusiasm, but I don't think a lot of people are going to make it to the Big House for a noon scrimage tjhat day, with all of the above going on.  On another Saturday, like April 18, maybe 70,000+.  This weekend, I'm guessing about 40,000.  Please prove me wrong, mgobloggers!!!

I am not sure this will be a full game, i.e. 3 hours that we see during the regular season.  My program guide on directv says Noon-2:00 pm.  Perhaps a running clock.  Maybe it will be normal clock and BTN just breaks away to game they are covering at 2:00 pm.  Guess we will see Saturday but this either way will be better to watch than what I seen past few years.

I am going to shoot ofr getting there as the gates open - being that I never have been much of a morning person even though work forces me to be one, it is probably the best I can manage anyway. I am curious to know if there are any specific blog-related MGoMeetups, but I seem to recall that they've been sporadic for the spring game so I won't hold out a lot of hope. I can definitely find things to do all the same before the game anyway.

I assume all of us here do, but I would hope anyone who goes to the game makes at least a small donation to Motts.

I will be there at 10:00 with at least 2 daughters.  They want front row as in years past.  Not my favorite perspective to watch the game, but we must insure that Kalis and Wormley see their surprises they have for them.

Haha I am sure you will all have a blast.

One question I have, as someone who hasn't attended in the past and just watched on TV...does the band come to play also? Do the players run out and touch the banner at all? Obviously it's not the same as an actual game but I think that'd be pretty cool to see.

I will probably try to sit just up from the tunnel at the 50.

I'm surprised it's going to be broadcast on the radio. Or is that common and I just never paid attention?

I haven't heard anything about the alumni flag football game. Are they not doing that anymore? In 2009, I found that much more entertaining than the actual spring game itself.

How can it be Durkin vs. Drevno? Don't you want the OC coaching both offensive units and the DC coaching both defenses? Otherwise half the game is Durkin calling offensive plays vs. Drevno's defensive plays.
