Spring Game 2015 Open Thread
I didn't see one already posted and I know it's a bit early, but figured people may want to post some tailgating pictures and anything else going on before the game.
Post away.
HARBAUGH!!!!!!
EDIT: As of 11:57am this link was working for live stream

Games where they can control the ball with the power of the Force are much better.
I believe there are no current NCAA rules against that.

Hope he stays on campus over the summer and works out non stop with Darboh, Chesson, Canteen, Cole, and everyone to get all those throws in sync.

Neither QB looked that good today and the one TD throw came against Northfleet. It's a good thing we have Rudock coming in.

Offensively we need more then a game breaker at WR.
I'd like to say the D looked great, but I'm not sure if the O just looked that bad or what.
Why was there no Speight?

I think the losing coach is going to be a lot happier about this one than the winning coach.
Ofense wasn't as bad as M70M, but it was still way behind the defense.
Harbaugh looks pissed. Something tells me that whole "execution" expectation was probably not met, at least not on offense.
It's only spring. Still a lot of time to correct those things.
Hopefully the QBs and WRs spend a lot of time together running routes.
So we learned that Shane actually is a B10 level QB. Malzone is a freshman but very smart and has a lot of potential. The WRs didn't have a good practice but started to click toward the end and the defense is good.
We're still in very good hands.

This is almost exactly what I expected as far as the game goes and the playing, aside from the few penalties, was pretty good. I expect the fall to be the fine tuning that this team needs in the WR area and it should be a pretty good year offensively.
The defense on the other hand.... they look fast and excited! They should be excellent. I expect them to get to be a top 5-10 defense in CFB this year.

wait, you mean after 15 whole practices, and watering-down the starters by splitting them up, eliminating any/all team-chemistry, the team looks "shaky"?
I'm worried guys!!
The team is going to be just fine. We've got a tough as hell schedule this year, 2 Top PAC teams to open up the season, but give these coaches another 5 months, S&C, film, coaching.
They look WAY better than last years spring game. People shouldn't underestimate how challenging it is to split a team into two and then re-establish coaching and chemistry.
The Team is Strong. I repeat The Team is Strong!

Not a lot of running today, but then it's a bit more to work out the kinks in the passing game.
....so, judging by the comments, I'm guessing I didn't miss anything today. Commits were the highlight.
It was damn good to see these guys on the field. Things could have been cleaner, but considering that it wasn't expected to look like a finished product it was well worth watching.
I found it interesting that Harbaugh was THERE on the field, in the huddle, in the guys ears. This is a guy who realizes little things like when you're coaching a game you have to be on the sideline, but when you're teaching the game you can do things differently.
You nailed it.
It was pretty boring game watching it on TV, really glad I didn't drive down there today.
Morris looked ok. He showed some decent accuracy, Made a few REALLY nice throws, but also did the whole "throwing 100 MPH when he should be throwing 70' thing a few times. I think he generally showed that he COULD work out as our starter, if we can find someone to actually catch his throws.
Malzone worries me. I thought his arm strength looked really suspect. HIs outside throws hung in the air FOREVER. One of them should have been a pick-6 and he had several others that just hung up there begging for disaster. He rarely probed downfield. Whether that was by play design or by his own choice I can't say. Unless he improves massively by fall I can't see how he can be the starter this year. Which isn't necessarily a knock on him--you rarely want a true freshman as your starter anyway. Hopefully this is stuff that will get better as he gets more experience and develops.
It's pretty clear after this game why Michigan was willing to take Rudock. Neither Morris nor Malzone has clearly grabbed the starting job. Morris would be my pick of the two based on this one game, but he still needs to work on things to really make the leap IMO.
