I didn't see one already posted and I know it's a bit early, but figured people may want to post some tailgating pictures and anything else going on before the game.

Post away.

Morris is definitely looking better, but he's still putting a little too much pepper on his throws. But there have been a few dropped balls so it's not all on him. Either way, there's a lot of time left until Fall Camp.

Hope he stays on campus over the summer and works out non stop with Darboh, Chesson, Canteen, Cole, and everyone to get all those throws in sync.

good, at least as compared to all of the spring camp muttering. He showed some ability with those deep throws to be more than just a game manager.

Harbaugh looks pissed. Something tells me that whole "execution" expectation was probably not met, at least not on offense.

It's only spring. Still a lot of time to correct those things.

So we learned that Shane actually is a B10 level QB. Malzone is a freshman but very smart and has a lot of potential. The WRs didn't have a good practice but started to click toward the end and the defense is good.

showed well enough. I hope he continues to develop over the summer in terms of gaining command of the playbook and reading defenses. I'd much rather he earns the spot than a guy who was benched on a meh team.

Long way to go, and the offense certainly needs some work, but luckily there's 5 months before the season starts. Defense looked great on both sides.

We're still in very good hands.

This is almost exactly what I expected as far as the game goes and the playing, aside from the few penalties, was pretty good. I expect the fall to be the fine tuning that this team needs in the WR area and it should be a pretty good year offensively.

The defense on the other hand.... they look fast and excited! They should be excellent. I expect them to get to be a top 5-10 defense in CFB this year.

I hope everyone realizes that they should not be depressed. Harbaugh has only been here 3 months you know. Offense will be much better than last year by fall and the defense is going to be improved as well. By fall we will be pretty damn good with the high rep practices. WRs need work but everything else looked improved over last spring.

So, how much of this was that we weren't playing a cohesive starting group, but a group of "drafted" players. I think it would have been more a more interesting/legitimate look at our team using the true depth chart.

wait, you mean after 15 whole practices, and watering-down the starters by splitting them up, eliminating any/all team-chemistry, the team looks "shaky"?

I'm worried guys!!

The team is going to be just fine. We've got a tough as hell schedule this year, 2 Top PAC teams to open up the season, but give these coaches another 5 months, S&C, film, coaching.

They look WAY better than last years spring game. People shouldn't underestimate how challenging it is to split a team into two and then re-establish coaching and chemistry.

The Team is Strong. I repeat The Team is Strong!

It was damn good to see these guys on the field.  Things could have been cleaner, but considering that it wasn't expected to look like a finished product it was well worth watching.

I found it interesting that Harbaugh was THERE on the field, in the huddle, in the guys ears.  This is a guy who realizes little things like when you're coaching a game you have to be on the sideline, but when you're teaching the game you can do things differently.

Morris looked ok.   He showed some decent accuracy,  Made a few REALLY nice throws, but also did the whole "throwing 100 MPH when he should be throwing 70' thing a few times.  I think he generally showed that he COULD work out as our starter, if we can find someone to actually catch his throws.

Malzone worries me.  I thought his arm strength looked really suspect.  HIs outside throws hung in the air FOREVER.  One of them should have been a pick-6 and he had several others that just hung up there begging for disaster.  He rarely probed downfield.  Whether that was by play design or by his own choice I can't say.  Unless he improves massively by fall I can't see how he can be the starter this year.  Which isn't necessarily a knock on him--you rarely want a true freshman as your starter anyway.  Hopefully this is stuff that will get better as he gets more experience and develops.

It's pretty clear after this game why Michigan was willing to take Rudock.  Neither Morris nor Malzone has clearly grabbed the starting job.  Morris would be my pick of the two based on this one game, but he still needs to work on things to really make the leap IMO.
