Spring FB practice
March 25th, 2017 at 11:58 PM ^
"Everybody is chomping at the bit to prove to the coaches what they can do and are capable of. That was very evident in the 4-hour practice today."
Literally could've come out of the mouth of Harbaugh and I wouldn't have batted an eye. Great quote about the mindset of the team and even greater to see our QB thinking and talking like Harbaugh.

You can tell Speight is really turning into a leader. Tremendous to see that development under Harbaugh and I'm confident that it's a pattern we'll see for his tenure. Incredibly excited about where this program is headed.
March 26th, 2017 at 10:16 AM ^
But hope even more that he is turning into a QB who doesn't miss open receivers so often, and can hit deep throws against quality defenses. With a shaky Oline, our margin for error in other areas is limited.
March 26th, 2017 at 11:52 AM ^
Florida State and WIsconsin are pretty good offenses.
March 26th, 2017 at 12:03 PM ^
what'd I miss
March 26th, 2017 at 12:14 AM ^
Seriously, if I knew absolutely nothing about those guys, I would swear Speight is Harbaughs son. He looks and sound so much like him. Hopefully Speight can take that step and be a leader for an extremely young but extremely talented team.

Lots of boys born in the late 80s and early 90s look like Harbaugh's son...
It's "champing at the bit." Silly college kids...
March 26th, 2017 at 11:53 AM ^
This was going to be my response as well. Harbaugh would have gotten the saying correct.
Those Who Stay Will Be Champing . . . At The Bit!
March 26th, 2017 at 12:15 AM ^
Peters definately bulked up really resembles Andrew luck ...
March 26th, 2017 at 12:24 AM ^
Highly rated white quarterback resembles other highly rated white quarterback? I thought we only did this with WR's......
Speaking of which, I've heard Oliver Martin is looking a lot like Wes Welker in camp
/Did I do it right?
ED: Also reminds me of a coaches son who brings his lunch pail to outwork all the other guys and shows up first and leaves last and brings great sneaky athleticism and is a real headsy player.
/OK now I did it right

student of the game. GYM RAT. Locker room guy. Type of guy you want your daughter to bring home. Grinder. Respect for the game. Coachable.
Receiver. Just an athlete.
White

Athlete. Speed. Raw. Natural ability. Things you can't teach. Wingspan. Freak. Quick twitch. Leaping ability. Pure athleticism. Swagger. Monster. Big hands. Athletic ability. Beast. Fluid. Disipline. Athletically athleticism an athletic athlete.
March 26th, 2017 at 10:08 AM ^
You forgot my favorites..."overachiever" and "student of the game."
Also GRITTY. High motor. Sneaky fast or deceptible speed. Tough. Leader.
...and another popular one that drives me crazy..."High IQ"
Don Brown basically said Jabrill had a high IQ yesterday. That didn't drive me crazy the last couple years.
There are always exceptions to stereotypes and insensitive descriptors or judgements. What are you talking about?
All white people or black people or any people aren't one thing or don't all like/dislike one thing. Why are you pointing this out?
Also it is FACT that those descriptors are used more to define white or black players. Look it up there was a huge study done on comments leading up to the NFL Draft awhile back too.
Kind of disturbing when you see it side-by-side...huh?
But again, no one said it was a certainty. Well no one with any decency.
Since having to explain the humor in a comment makes it not funny, I'll avoid doing that and simply say I don't care what color of skin or background, I like high IQ football players.
March 26th, 2017 at 10:44 PM ^
Explaining the humor?
Your comprehension is TERRIBLE today.
That wasn't a joke and neither was the original post you responded to...it was me stating a fact. There a usually exceptions to most sterotypes. Do all black people like fried chicken? No. All white people can't dance? No.
So you pointing out Jabrill Peppers was stupid. THAT is what I was saying - it doesn't make the sterotype or frequent descriptor any less accurate by finding an exception. Do you think JJ Watt has never been called a "freak" or "monster?" Of course not. I heard Derrick Walton called "GRITTY" 3 times in one half last week.
So...in conclusion.
1. Your response to my first post talking about Don Brown and Jabrill Peppers was pointless - there are plenty of exceptions. But the research shows black players are called certain things more freqently than white players and vice versa.
2. What the hell are you talking about having to explain humor? There was no humor.
But I'm glad we both don't care about the color of a player's skin...didn't know we had to state that, but since we do - count me in the boat with you who just want elite players who can play. But I feel like most people want that. So stating it doesn't really carry any weight any more than saying "I like food" in my mind. It's like, uh, awesome, me too.
March 27th, 2017 at 11:27 AM ^
It's unfortunate you don't seem to be able to comprehend my comment. Good luck with that whole living life thing.
March 26th, 2017 at 11:35 AM ^
High Football IQ. Brings his lunch bucket to practice every day. Has deceptive athleticism.
March 26th, 2017 at 12:34 AM ^
Oliver Martin isn't in camp but you got the racial stereotype right
So all white QBs with a little bulk and muscle definition look alike, huh?
March 26th, 2017 at 10:05 AM ^
That's what I'm talking about. Peters is going to be selling tickets to the gun show to get through college until he gts paid in the NFL.
March 26th, 2017 at 10:29 AM ^
Shouldn't they be wearing white collar shirts?
March 26th, 2017 at 11:38 AM ^
Are those identical quadruplets?
Absolutely.
March 26th, 2017 at 12:37 AM ^
That nice & thoughtful sounding young man is the same Maurice Hurst that rubs his belly enthusiastically after each beastly sack? Kid's got some serious Jekyll and Hyde, lol.
March 26th, 2017 at 12:48 AM ^
That Harbaugh clip at the end. Yes, he is our coach. Awesome.
Certainly comes across as a confident leader
March 26th, 2017 at 12:54 PM ^
Speight looks like a giraffe without pads...
That's just silly--when is the last time you saw a giraffe wearing pads?
March 27th, 2017 at 11:37 AM ^
About once a month. But only the females.
Can't wait! TEAM 138 BABY!!
GO BLUE!!
I almost find it a shame that they won't have the Spring Game in the Coliseum, and since they would occasionally flood the place, a Game complete with an old-school naval battle recreated afterwards with one trireme commanded by Harbaugh himself. I'll take Michigan Stadium as a suitable replacement though, and maybe we can still get the naval battle afterwards.
March 26th, 2017 at 10:44 AM ^
Navy!
Just about every single job on the team is up for grabs with so many starters no longer on the team.
It's a hell of a feeding frenzy out there.
Like piranhas in a pond.
March 26th, 2017 at 12:18 PM ^
but im pretty sure most of us could do a depth chart that works out close to the real thing
A two-deep? I think there are going to be some two-deep surprises in about half the position groups.
How long does the spring game usually last?
March 26th, 2017 at 10:58 PM ^
Last time I went (2012), it was about 2 hours.
