Spring Crean-ing continues: Jeremiah April leaving IU bball
In news that will surprise no one, another Indiana basketball player, Jeremiah April, was told has decided to leave the program. Tom Crean now has the ability to bring in another 4-star who will be forced out voluntary transfer before contributing in any meaningful way.
April is the third player to leave the IU basketball program this year, following in the footsteps of Max Hoetzel and Stanford Robinson. In 2014, three other players also transferred - Peter Jurkin, Austin Etherington, and Jeremy Hollowell.
In case you were wondering which B1G coach is the worst, let me remind you that it's Tom Crean. Tom Crean is the worst.
I really had to concentrate to pronounce "spring crean-ing."

Then you've never met an Indiana fan. They're the worst.

To be fair, seems like the kid was a project to begin with, a late flyer added to the roster. Never heard of him before today, so did a little checking and seems like he had some injury issues and was already being left out by the time December rolled around. From a Feb article - below, "He’s appeared in just three of IU’s 25 games this season and none since Dec. 9. None of his 14 career minutes have come in a Big Ten game."

EDIT:
per Inside the Hall commenter:
Jeremiah informed us earlier of his desire to seek a different situation for himself,” Tom Crean said in a release. “He would like an increased role and we are not able to ensure him this would happen. Our hope is that he will reach his potential wherever he chooses to go.”Let me do the English translation of this Creanspeak: "Jeremiah was informed earlier today that once again I have oversigned and need to Crean somebody. Since you have zero chance to play any minutes over the next three years, we are asking you to go play somewhere else. Thank you for being a practice dummy these past 8 months."
What a slimy little effer
Why keep April?
It's now May. This was really an error in calendaring and in no way malicious on the behalf of good hearted friendly uncle Tom.
I don't understand why anyone would commit to playing for that man. Anything that Indiana can offer can be matched by other schools.
-Indiana Basketball? Notre Dame looks good now.
-B1G Basketball? Michigan, MSU, OSU, etc.
-National Championships? There are a number of schools with better chances.
-NBA potential? See above
I don't get it.
So today's the first day after April for IU hoops?
I'll see myself out.

and not even that good of a coach. I'd be anxiously awaiting his ouster if I was an IU fan
Crean must have coached at some point in the EES EEE SEE!

And to think I was more excited to see Brundidge in a Michigan uniform than Trey Burke...

No, he went and got Spike and Levert because everyone thought Burke was leaving. All three transfers were expected when they were anounced.
We judge others by their actions while judging ourselves by our intentions. At the end of the day 3 players transfered out of Indiana and 3 players transferred out of Michigan.
A few years ago after Remy quit and Mo Creek decided he was transferring, they used to come the WIC to play ball. Remy was in the gym every single day and one day I asked him about transferring. He wouldn't really answer the question but he always kind of hinted. Mo told me near the end of the year that a lot of guys go in there and they just can't handle Crean and his attitude. Take that for what you will.
