Holy formatting Batman! Who the hell can't even get a table into a post correctly!?
Spring 2014 Roster
I was going to say take it easy on the guy, but the realized you were talking to yourself...
The tables from MGoBlue have not exactly been copy-and-paste friendly historically, but if you go back to edit it, you can right-click on the table and go to Table Properties to see if changing the width helps. The only drawback night be longer names getting cut and moved to an additional row. Pasting it into Excel would allow you to clean it up a lot more, although the heights would turn to dates thanks to the default formatting in Excel.
Try this: http://tableizer.journalistopia.com/
It's not as pretty as using the MGoBlog tools, but it seems to work to just cut and paste into the plain text editor.
Green at 227 is nice to see.
That's exactly what I was thinking.. I hope it's accurate.
He tweeted a picture about a week or two ago showing 225 on the scale, so should be accurate.
Did not realize Chris fox was 6-6
Like 28 pounds. Which is probably good.
Uh, don't you remember the rules of spring weights? Being down 28 lbs is absolutely amazing! He definitely lost only bad weight - that's the only possiblity.
He is an offensive lineman coming off of a knee injury. Being down 28 pounds means he probably lost only bad weight.
...Scrolls to Green immediately.
Really, really young.
Definately an updated roster, but MGoBlue roster still has Courtney Avery, Taylor Lewan, Cameron Gordon as team captains .Details people!
Someone is always trying to dethrone the leaders.
I'm pretty sure it means they're still on team by finding some NCAA loophole so they can keep riding Lewan's twosie, but 2014 captains?
Gardner, JMFR, and Morgan
Huge! Wasn't aware he was eligible/the coaches were pursuing it.
A probable 3 years of Thomas and Peppers in the defensive backfield. I'm fine with this.
That can't be accurate. He played a fair amount and I don't recall him suffering any major injury.
Edit: A check of the player participation logs shows that he played in every single game, so there is no way this is accurate.
Yeah, I noticed Delano Hill listed as RS FR as well. Didn't he play quite a bit on special teams?
Not to upstage the OP, but this is a handy link.
A cursory glance reveals Canteen wearing 17, and Heitzman at TE, so it seems fairly up to date.
Henry Poggi as being from the MGoBlogStore.com. Is this a new territory?
6'4 WRs. Check
Now we pray to Zeus they have something going for them aside from tall parents.
Tall but skinny. Drake at 180? And canteen at 170? Beef up by fall please
Those two dudes have been on campus for like a month and should be in HS right now. I wouldn't worry too much about them.
But on the other hand, lots of wide receivers come out of high school way closer to 200 than they are.
...and lots don't.
He was good.
I hope she was 6'6.
Really? Do lots of WRs come out close to 200? I'd bet that's not true. HS WRs are typically pretty light.
Stribling and Dawson as well.
I have high expectations for Harris. But with Funchess as a premier WR, I think he has a year to put on some weight. With Darboh, Chesson, and Funchess, I don't think the pressure is on the young WR too much to immediately perform.
Why no Gardner? Or am I blind?
You are blind...#98
Dymonte listed as RS FR...I like to see that, but it does seem a little suspect given the amount of PT he had last year.
I don't remember him playing much other than the opener.
Officially had 7 tackles and one punt return...not much work, but he saw time on special teams, if I recall correctly.
According to the player participation logs, he played in every game, at least on special teams.
Shhhhh. Let's keep it a secret.
Also listed as a RS Freshman despite playing last year. I don't get it...
Something is amiss. Maybe they passed some sort of extra eligibility rule for safeties that no one is aware of.
Not that I would complain about having an extra year of either of those guys.
T Rich up another 5 pounds from fall. That's good to see
Funchess at 230 makes him pretty much a lock for WR.
It's more up-to-date, but not 100% accurate. Shane tweeted that he was up to I believe 212 like two days ago. That's obviously only one person, but kind of an indicator that not too much time was put into this probably.
Man I hope that's true with Butt's inury.
But every time it comes up, I'm going to tell the world, I'm a Khalid Hill backer. I don't know why, but I think he's going to get in there, bang heads, and be tough and versatile.
This hould probably be saved for one of our myriad "who will be our pleasant surprise player" threads, but I'm going to throw it out there anyway. I'm hoping he sees some action this year.
Needs to get significant amount of snaps this year. He's a freak.
Finally some stability in the OL weights instead of putting guys out there who just underwent huge changes to their bodies.
I love basketball, and I can't wait for MLB to start, but I really really really wish September would get here so I had Michigan football in my life. I need the 2013 taste washed out of my mouth.
A starting line of Magnuson, Bosch, Glasgow, Kalis, Braden would average 305lbs. Mags being the lightest at 295.
Kugler is up to 295 from 275 from last year as well.
Was 287 last year.
Bryan Mone is a large human being, 6-4, 315.
Dymonte got a redshirt? Did we know about this?
Delano Hill is also listed as a redshirt freshman?
I always thought he was destined to play inside.
He may be a 3-tech turned SDE now that Heitzman is on offense.
Poggi, Godin, Wormley and Strobel all seem sort of inter-changable in that way. Do you think they are all currently in the spots they project best to, or are the team needs dictating some of this?
if they're going more w/ 4 down linemen and a detached SAM over the slot, that gives the 3T and 5T roles a lot more separation. 3T is going to see more doubles and has to plug gaps. 5T has to set the edge, pass rush, drop into coverage a bit. until some of them start to show real separation in strength or quickness, i think looking at weight's probably the best proxy for position.
in which case: Wormley and Godin to 3T, Poggi and Strobel to 5T.
is it just me, or do our linebackers seem light? the ones in the 230s aren't bad, but the average seems to look like a smallish fellow. maybe I'm comparing our guys with league guys in my mind...
I just looked at Brian's list and saw Beyer's weight. I must've missed him on the mercury list. even still, I didn't think of him as a linebacker, but more of an end. having him in the linebacker group raises the average to a slightly larger fellow. I hope this year sees us throwing juggernauts and hulks at opposing offenses come spring...
Outside of James Ross (225), every other LB who should see the field is 230+.
Thats a helluva last name.
Years from now, we’ll be reading about how University of Michigan alumni Dr. Joseph Burzynski (Biomedical Engineering Major) and Dr. David Alexander Mitropoulos-Rundus (Cellular and Molecular Biology Major) have teamed up to win the Nobel Prize in Biology.
I just noticed that the #2 jersey is not filled. I hope by this Fall that we can find a stud CB to fill that jersey. Anyone know of any who might fit the bill?
Mason Cole...the man without a position.
6-5, 275. The anti-Norfleet.
