Spooky Football Predictions

I predict Michigan rises from the grave and wins out the season.

We go to the Rose Bowl and murder OSU after murdering OSU.

To me the scariest thought of the night is that Notre Dame has like a 90% chance of going undefeated and being in the national champsionship game...

Where of course they will be crushed by Alabama. If Nick Saban loses the hell unleashed upon the world will make poltergiest look like Casper

for ND to go undefeated along with Alabama and Oregon, and have the conference championship games be the deciding factor that sends ND anywhere but Miami.

That would be so, so sweet. Seeing their MNC hopes crushed due to their lack of conference affiliation just screams poetic justice for all their fans who "would rather just focus on a national title".

Trust me when I say that being in the BCS is good enough this year.  We were expected to go 8-4 to 10-2 with this schedule.  I don't quite think you'll get the satisfaction you are looking for. In fact I think you would rather us go to the NCG and get beat down like you guys did earlier this year.  That way it leaves a bad taste in recruits mouths and bring back that lingering doubt that we just aren't as good as we thought.  More delicious imo.

Saying that though, a win in a BCS game is a springboard for great opportunities in recruiting.  As you guys are well aware of from last year.

And yes, an 11-1 team in a BCS game is a fantastic season.  But if you're undefeated with that scheduled and don't make the title game? Don't tell me people aren't going to be pissed.

The only thing worse than doing well but just not quite making it is feeling you HAVE made it and got screwed out of it.

that the explanation of why they "got screwed" will be something a lot of ND fans can't handle. If Alabama and Oregon both play top-fifteen teams in their CCG's and both pull away from ND as a result, that's a direct smack in the face of ND's entire philosophy this past century.

I'd be waiting for the ensuing shitstorm about how "the NCAA picks on us for not letting us play thirteen games" and reading a lot of "if we were in the Big Ten this year we wouldn't have had to work as hard and we'd be in the title game" type opinions.

Well I suppose the rebuttal to that is that we should have been better in the last few years in order to receive a better pre-season ranking.

I am seriously not going to be pissed if this comes to pass.  I rest knowing that a BCS game is waiting, and in it is an opponent we can, and probably will, beat.

Then cue the #1 preseason ranking.  Next year was always the target year for NCG for those of us who live in reality.

But he was talking about ND fans in general; and to some extent, the media. Get back to me after Bowl Selection Sunday all the way to Championship Monday and see if anyone is talking about ND "getting screwed."

And I looked at the bowl projections, and really since not playing in the title game against Bama is the condition, and Oregon getting bounced means they go into the Rose, I'm not really seeing anyone they could play that wouldn't be a coin flip or advantage ND. They do seem to be projected against maybe the toughest opponent, Kansas State, but I don't think they're unbeatable.

Auburn still complains about 2004 even though they bought a crystal football in 2010. I think if they win out and do not get the invite then 50 years from now ND fans will talk about how they were cheated.

Alabama has an open date next year in September that they are trying to fill. Think ND will schedule them to try a schedule that would get them into the MNC game? Me either.

The Mayans were correct, and the world will end with Notre Dame undefeated. On the bright side, the world will end before the National Championship game, thus the Return to Glory will forever be in purgatory (much like it has been for the last 20+ years). God's 2,000 year plan to punish the Domers for turning Jesus into a football gimmick.

I don't see any team we cannot beat as long as Robinson is the QB. If he goes out often we may lose 1 or 2 more games. Probably NW and OSU scare me the most.  If Robinson elbow swelling stays in check the the nerve is not a major issue then I could see us knocking of the Buckeyes in Columbus.

LSU beats Bama this weekend. K-state loses sometime along the way setting up an Oregon v Notre Dame title game. Oregon wins by 3 td's!! The SEC's reign is over this year!

with no running game whatsoever beyond Denard, an OL that can't run block, and a crew of largely unimpressive WRs and still "murder" OSU is an absurdly homeristic fantasy.

I like us to beat Minnesoat, Northwestern, and Iowa, but we haven't beaten a team with a winning record on the road and nothing shows me we can win at OSU.  Either way, I think Nebraska falls this weekend to MSU which puts us right in the drivers seat to go to the title game.  I also agree we go to the Rose by beating Wisconsin...then get murdered by Oregon or USC...sorry.  It will all be a positive experience for us as we work our way towards being awesome in 2014.
