Speculate who could be Penn St's next coach if O'Brien is lured away
But people apparently love him... Though I think they are Bears, Packers, and Vikings fans...
Heard he's close with Drake, that might help recruiting
He will revolutionize college offenses with his new 9 receiver sets (plus QB and center). 83 scholarship receivers - defense and special teams will all be receivers too - just think how many picks the defense will have)
psu only has about 24 total scholarships in football
Al Golden...if it was a year or two down the road and miami got hit hard with their own sanctions
Al Golden will be coaching PSU sometime in the near future. If B.o.B. doesn't leave this year, he will most certainly be back in the NFL soon and the next head coach will have to be someone the alumni will stand behind. Golden is being played like a fiddle down in Miami by the AD and I can't see him liking his situation down there any better than what PSU will be offering over the next 5 years.
But the situation as far as talent goes is going to be dreadful in a year or two. Golden may be the coach someday, I just don't see it in the next 7-8 years. If Obrien leaves, I think PSU is going to have to hire someone older who has nothing to gain or lose, not really sure who though....Frank Solich?
Solich has a good thing going at OU. The fans love him and there aren't unrealistic expectations like there would be at Penn State, where it seems like a majority of people expect PSU to be able to go undefeated despite the sanctions. Given what happened to Solich in Nebraska, I don't see him ever wanting to to back to that sort of environment.
Jon Gruden, Tony Dungy, Bill Cowher, Bill Belichick.
Haven't you heard? Gruden is a virtual lock for [any school with an opening].
Go with Ki-Jana Carter or Blair Thomas. Maybe Anthony Morelli. Probably Urban Meyer.
Someone from the MAC
John L Smith
A big sorry letter and here's the job you wanted Mr. McQueery!!
Lock the thread.
Well played, my friend. I'm on the EL and bust out laughing from that one. Everybody is looking at me like I've gone nuts but totally worth it...
mlive early tonight?
About Kevin Nash?
maybe we will get lucky and they will hire borges
I'm really confused (fill me in if I missed something) as how this guy can get 5 upvotes for saying Borges but the guy a couple comments above can get a -1?
No, you're not the boss of me.
Someone with nothing to lose and a glutton for punishment. Someone who's always wanted real respect and never gotten it.
It's definitely Bob Stoops.
Zook? Huston nutt? JLS?
Jim Tressell. Seriously, how awesome would that be?
Brett Beilema in a suprise hire!
Jerry SanduskiiiiiiiY may fit well....oops, oh wait a minute. Nevermind.
Naw, Coach Reilly.
I don't know man, Gordon quit on the ducks, why wouldn't he quit on them too.
You spelled Holthz wrong.
Just look at how well he managed the sideline today
O-coordinator could be troy smith.
Coach Maurice clarett
She would have the best recruiting pitch
Or are you just saying that?
I love desk.
Rich Rod, he can pick up a field goal kicker on the way !
Pulls another shocker...
A little voodoo and voila! Hey, he was a figurehead by the end anyway...
I'll go ask him, he lives a couple condos down from me.
Simpson, I mean McDuffie
This could actually happen In my honest opinion. If they're willing to pay up enough.
John madden just had a heart attack
Mike Ditka, you're welcome.
I'd try to lure Coach Nickerson back from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
A great fit for Penn State would be K.C. Keeler, coach of the University of Delaware.
Keeler has already recruited the same surrounding areas Penn State targets, is a proven winner at the FCS level, and is from Pennsylvania originally.
The Kiffin family.
Pee Wee Herman.
Wayne. Wayne Fontes.
you people are just being silly now, I refuse to comment or make any silly suggestions until you people start taking these posts seriously. But for now, may I recommend someone of high integrity/esteem with real coaching prowess, so with no further delay may I suggest Martha Stewart, she could really cook up somethin good.
