Sparty Schadenfreude

Submitted by Lie-Cheat-Steal on

After the fluke dropped punt loss to Sparty, all their close wins, and all their boasting about the lucky win, yesterday provided sweet karmic justice.  Their reaction to the loss (Plaxico, Jamele Hill) is just further evidence of their little bro status and mentality.

With Harbaugh just starting to create his monster in Ann Arbor, and Urbz being Urbz in C-Bus, writing is on the wall for Sparty, especially with Cook leaving this year.  Back to mediocrity and even more national irrelevance in the coming years.

I could not scour through enough RCMB last night, as the schadenfreude of not only their loss, but the way in which they lost (and attempts to distinguish it from their fluke win in Ann Arbor) made the tears that much more delicious.

Please share your favorite Sparty schadenfreude memes, posts, twitters, etc here below.  I simply can not get enough, and I doubt TWIS will have all of the good stuff, as there is just too much right now.

I finally watched it. I suggest any UM fan who thinks we shouldn't take a little joy in Sparty being Sparty to watch as well.

LOL. I'm 80-90% over the MSU game. But I guarantee Harbaugh isn't. After being a genius coach and motivator, great eye for talent, and apparently top notch recruiter, my favorite thing about Harbaugh is he has petty, mean streak to rival anyone I've ever known.

I had never heard of her until the Twitter fight with Rich Eisen.

So I watched the video.  OK, so cool, have your little rant.  It's all fun.

But don't think for one second that when you go down this path we are not going to shove Sparty Schadenfeude so far up your ass when we get a chance that you won't need a colonoscopy until you are eighty.

If anybody is just asking to be bitch-slapped by Karma when the tables are inevitably turned, it's this loudmouth.

I have seen His & Her or whatever that show is. I did not even know she was MSU alum until recently. I did not watch this video until now. I have to say I was laughing. I don't think I would have felt that way couple of weeks back. But after that MSU loss yesterday, I am totally with the crowd that wants to post all kinds of stuff about MSU. F*** them. She can kiss my a**. Next year, we are gonna beat their a** in EL like how a big brother beats down on a little brother.

Everyone thinking Cook leaving implies shitty quarterback play for them needs to check themselves. They've produced 3 good QBs in a row (Hoyer, Cousins, Cook) none of which were highly recruited. That's coaching. Add in Nick Foles as a half of a QB produced.

Also, wouldn't it be better to beat them every year when they're good? I don't want our best years to misalign with theirs. I want to beat them consistently when they're having the best years of their program's history.

Everyone is probably correct in assuming worse QB play from MSU next year. Cook is pretty damn good as a 3rd year starter maybe the best they have had under Dantonio, and even a phenom isn't going to be as good as a first year starter.

So you think Terry is going to light the world on fire? Their defense has been their calling card, which has allowed their QB and RB time to get acclimated to their system. Now, it looks like the D and the O will be going through growing pains at the same time which suits me just fine. Besides, UM football went through it's roughest patch ever, do you think sparty gave a damn if we were at our best?

You forgot Andrew Maxwell, their comically bad QB in 2012 and part of '13. And Hoyer and Cousins, while fine players, we're not gunslingers like Cook. He's on a different level from those guys.

Finally, it's nuts to want MSU to be good. We already have a brutal, winner-take-all rivalry with OSU. We don't need another.

MSU will take a step back next season, probably 7-8 wins. But they will be good after that. Dantonio has recruited well. I don't expect them to go anywhere. That being said, I was happy to see their luck run out finally.

I don't think MSU really goes anywhere as long as Dantonio is around. I see them definitely taking a step back next year with having to replace Cook, a good chunk of their OL, Calhoun, Burbridge, and I think another couple guys as well, but Dantonio probably gets the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

I'd say 7-8 wins next year, but he's probably good for anywhere between 8-11 wins a season until he's gone.

If you want the Spartans to return to mediocrity you need to stop posting about them. If this happened in 2005 instead of 2015, you would laugh and move on. Irrelevance only comes from us not considering them relevant.

Just give us a few years. We will get there. It will get boring and we will move on. It has been a long time since we had something to laugh about especially wrt MSU. Give it a few years and we will be back to our arrogant-self.

Whether or not they return to irrelevance is completely independent of how we act. We can ignore them all we want but if they keep winning 12 games a season, they're still relevant. Irrelevance will only happen when Harbaugh beats Dantonio so many times he forces him to retire and Sparty goes back to winning 6 games a season.

They beat us, and it wasn't any more a fluke than a last minute interception would have been a fluke. Their end-of-game defense put them in a position to have a last shot at winning, and they took advantage of our team's football error.

Hey, I'm glad they lost, because it gives us a shot at the division, but let's not get carried away with predictions about the future.

They're good, they'll be good for a while until Dantonio retires or leaves, and we need to be great to consistently beat them. So far, that hasn't happened.

Making an interception isn't comparable to end of this year's game. Unless the interception is equally unlikely. To have a punter drop a damn near perfect snap, freak out, then try to roundhouse the ball, then the ball deflects off of his foot and lands perfectly in the hands of an msu player in a look what I found manner? Comparing that to an interception, considering the rate that interceptions occur, is wild.
