The only thing about sporcle is that it doesn't punish wrong answers. So when I got one wrong or didn't know the answer, I just cycled through B1G teams and Notre Dame. There were only a couple OOC games listed, and I was able to remember the the names of the players and who they played for.

It's fun and all to make fun of them, but more so when Michigan is winning.  I would have taken MSU's season with Michigan beating MSU than what Michigan situation currently is.  Don't get me wrong, I'm estatic for what Michigan has the opportunity to accomplish this year, but Michigan needs to beat State before us as Michigan fans can go "LOL Sparty NO!" without  looking like MSU fans for the better part of the last 50 years.

There is a good portion of this fan base that is turning in to what we despised in MSU fans for forever (a bit obsessed, a bunch of threads about them, just as into our rival losing than us winning, etc.).  It may never get that bad (and probably won't), but it's not going in the right direction either.  I take more pride in Michigan's accomplishments over MSU than Sparty NO!, so I think we probably need to chill with all these threads.

Yes.  Thank you. A healthy rivalry is influenced by this behavior.  It just is annoying when you see MGO users saying this stuff, then making fun of MSU fans for the same behavior.  Also, I wish I could impliment a rule saying that anyone who posts in these threads is not allowed to comment how MSU isn't one of our rivals.  Obviously this behavior and those statements do not compute.

I agree with this 100%.

As an aside, last night was crushing, but it was not a SpartyNo.  Our kids played a great game and had a great season.  No reason to hang their heads at all.

As the poster above said, I would not trade UM's season for ours.

Congrats on the Sugar (sincerely), but MSU will not be mourning.

I honestly don't really have any desire to play K-State in the Sugar Bowl.  Being that close to the Rose Bowl, everything else feels like a let down.

Also, I will be pulling for the B1G Ten in bowl games. We need to represent.....

I'm sorry, but when you've stopped the other team with 1:30 left, when you have a hot offense, AND the return gets brought back to the goalline? And that all gets wiped out because a guy ran into the punter? That's a SpartyNO! moment if there ever was one.

And while you specifically may not be mourning/bitter, the comments by Cousins and the majority of Spartan Nation shows otherwise

1) Sparty NO is more than 4 years old, so it's not like this is a new trend indicating our fanbase's growing obsession.

2) This is a funny quiz aimed at one of our rivals. I would have posted it when I found it whether we had won or lost this year.

Yeah, but you still don't get it.  You wouldn't make this for Purdue or Penn State.  Just mentioning them (especially in the frequency they have been recently) on this board is recognizing their worth and that we might care.  Message to all mods.  PLEASE DELETE ALL POSTS regarding that second rate, garbage junior college.  This is MGoBlog, please keep the posts about MICHIGAN!!!!

They are not our rival, they are not on our radar, the two schools are not even comparable, stop, no more.

Oh no, I would be so afraid of being made fun of for what happens in a bowl by a fan of a team that hasn't won a bowl game since 2001 and that was against Fresno State in the mighty and traditional Silicon Valley Bowl.... err, "Football Classic."  Sparty making fun of us for BCS losses is like a Lions fans laughing that the Colts always fold in the playoffs.

I have been waiting two loooong years to update this quiz, which I originally wrote in the leadup to the 2009 MSU game. At that time MSU had beaten U-M precisely once in a row. To give MSU their props, I am impressed that it did take them almost three full seasons between blowing leads in the 4th quarter.

If you don't like gloating over Sparty until we beat them next fall, play this quiz instead: http://www.sporcle.com/games/schnoxl/michigan_opponents and name every college Michigan has ever played in football.

Thanks - that was fun.  I was a little surprised at the hostility directed towards Delaney, though - does anybody know what that's about, from the Spartan side? Are they really sore about Tom G's half-assed partial suspension, or do they think the conference somehow intentionally influences the BCS to disrespect them, or what?
