SOS Update: All But One of Our Future Opponents Won This Weekend

Submitted by BursleyHall82 on

Good news for our Strength of Schedule: All but one of our future opponents won this weekend - including both of our remaining non-conference foes. UCF shut out South Carolina State, 38-0, while Colorado steamrolled Colorado State, 44-7.

In the Big Ten, future opponents Indiana, Maryland, MSU, OSU, PSU, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois all won.

The only loss was suffered by our biggest rival, Rutgers.

I'd say a combination of poor recruiting and poor coaching. Not making good hiring decisions. UVa should be a school to leverage what it has. I don't know if they face academic restrictions on recruiting in comparison to other schools, but I'd say its mostly those two things. There's a good amount of talent in that area. I mean, future Heisman trophy winner, Wilton Speight, is from that state.

Horrible debut for Mendenhall. He got outcoached by an FBS coach. His defense, which could slow down the likes of Boise st and Utah, got consistently ripped by Richmond. Linebackers and safety's nowhere near the play. No pressure and blitzes ineffective. I had a feeling a Mormon from out west might not be the guy to resurrect a program in Virginia. I wanted Babers. Craig Littlepaige got a little too cute with this hire.
