I didn't know anything about Camp Michigania before I clicked on the link. After viewing that picture, I must logically conclude that this camp is in fact awesome. I will look into said camp when I have a family of my own.
Abort, Retry, Fail?
You may scoff, but as a 13 year veteran of Michigania 2nd week and recent UM grad -- I am looking forward to having a family(although the thought scares me) to bring back to the shores of Lake Walloon.
As a 6 year veteran of having a family and only a 2nd year veteran of Michigania, I would tell you to take your time on having the family. Michigania isn't going anywhere but it does kick some ass.
I haven't been up there since I was like 10. Apparently I knew my way around at 2 though, far better than my older cousins. Good times.
I've been camping since 1985 including 6 years on staff. Best summers of my life.
Who is going 5th week?! Brady Hoke for Faculty Forum?
were there. It rained one afternoon and we watched a replay of the '69 Ohio St. game. Good moment.
Go Blue !!!
Dave Brandon: Detailed and thorough investigation proves that Freep report was intentionally misleading.
My favorite place on earth. Grew up a 4th and 5th week camper, my sister worked there, her husband worked there. I never got to be on staff, never worked out with the MMB schedule.
The new dining hall is pretty much top-notch, though I do miss the old one for purely nostalgic reasons. Also miss the bug juice machines. The brown mess of sugary awesomeness you'd get when you mixed all 8 flavors was unmatched.
Longtime 5th weeker until my kids went to college; my kids later were on staff.
What a great place. I can't wait to go back!
This will be the 31st 9th week for me. Some great memories from there. I'll never forget coming back from one of the many 'secret' campfire locations one night and wondering why it seemed so light out, when I looked up to see the entire sky lit up by the northern lights. A bunch of my friends and I stayed up all night watching them.
