Sort of OT: High School Rivalry Games
For those of you that have NFL Network, apparently today is a showcase of various big time high school rivalry games.
On right now is Muskegon versus Rockford, which probably means a lot if you A) know Michigan high school football and B) are from Western Michigan. I believe all the games being shown are from 2007.
More importantly for Michigan fans, on in 25 minutes is Glades Central versus Pahokee. If it is from 2007, we should, perhaps see a familiar face or two.

EK vs Rockford is a big one if your from west Michigan

Sort of disappointing, so far it's been mostly about Glades Central and not Pahokee.

The second half was a bit more about Pahokee. Martavious returned a fumble for a TD and flipped into the endzone. Pretty okay.
I think Hawthorne made some plays on defense, but his number might have been used by someone else. Couldn't really tell.
And Vincent Smith ran in for at least one TD. Pretty cool overall.

I dont get the NFL network, but Hawthorne's current number was the number of a teammate that was killed right before he took his official visit to Michigan. Rodriguez told Hawthorne that he could wear that number while he played here in memory of his friend.

Yikes, I had no idea. It was number 4 from what I can tell in his senior year, and the guy that I kept seeing in the game had dreads and really didn't look anything like Brandin. But it was hard to tell.
I believe the series will be on again in the future. For those that weren't able to catch, I'd say do it. It was pretty cool, even for those that didn't play high school football (me) or even enjoy anything about your high school football team (me again).

DCC vs. BR

I go to Grandville and EK/ Rockford is not that big, East Grand Rapids vs. Lowell is huge. For Grandville we suck to much to have a big rival.

Kyle, no one gives a crap about Jenison.

But here in my town it's Darby vs Davidson. Both schools are in Hilliard and one has a State Championship the other (my old high school) has never made it past the first round of the playoffs. We went undefeated in 2008 my senior year, went to the playoffs but lost in the 1st round to rival Dublin Coffman. But the Darby Davidson game is an exciting one to watch.

with the two teams playing at high level the past few seasons, this is a great game to watch. Plus Clarkston wears maize and blue and the winged helmet. (Dan Fife is bball coach and AD) Lake Orion is green and white. Its like M-MSU game.
