they 'have to' report until school starts/camp starts. Most of them will come down for the summer in the hopes of getting in better shape with Barwis, participating in voluntary team activities and in general getting used to college life.
Back at Orientation in 2007, I met a bunch of football players, and camp started shortly after our orientation, which was Aug 1-3. I remember hanging with D. Warren and making fun of Martell Webb as he hit up the soft-serve like it was his job knowing he wouldn't be able to do that once camp started up.
The players can start arriving as soon as they're done with high school and everything.. I think there are some that will be there in the next 2-3 weeks or so. They kind of come in spurts, and enroll in summer classes etc.
According to an interview Marvin had with Scout or Rivals within the past month, he will be there by this Tuesday.
I think they start coming in mid to late June to start working out with Barwis. That means that football is slowing getting closer to starting up.
IIRC, freshmen have to report a week before the rest of the team, in August. Many will come before that for summer workouts, though.
Yesterday was too late, we need these boys to get busy on their 16 hour voluntaries. I hope to god the coaches don't have to text these guys and tell them to get their ass out of class and high tail it over to the gym. Kids these days.
