Somewhat OT: Final Post (Hopefully) on MGoBlueShop (I passed into the acceptance phase too quickly)

The sweatshop itself is mentally challenged?
April 29th, 2010 at 10:13 PM ^
I'd just like to meet the Martian monkeys who work there and lack appropriate ideals.
April 29th, 2010 at 10:17 PM ^
I wanted to say something else.. but I decided that I'd stay away from saying that they were mentally challenged sweatshop in a 3rd world country.
There are you happy! I said it! They must have found the shittiest third world country with the cheapest labor force to produce this shit.
Shenanigans!
April 29th, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
ummm, they are "developing countries," not third world.

I got an email today that my shirt was not going to be shipped but that my wife's shirt and sweatshirt would. I ordered on April 16th. It is Kind of sucky that it took that long to let me know A. That I wont get my product and B. that it will finally ship. Especially when the site said at the time of my order that It would ship the same day.
I have a feeling the stuff wont fit her correctly if at all. Hopefully I am wrong.
April 29th, 2010 at 10:15 PM ^
No offense to your wife but I hope that you got it big. I got my girlfriend something and it's something that a midget would wear. (No joke seriously the mediums were like xs)
April 29th, 2010 at 10:18 PM ^
What brands did you buy that fit shitty?
April 29th, 2010 at 10:19 PM ^
Although they might have slipped in a few extra letters. Such as:
Foakley's
Romex
etc.

So you really think they sold you faux Adidas gear? IMO Adidas runs huge but you think it's fake?
April 29th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
April 29th, 2010 at 10:39 PM ^
Well if it's smaller than it should be, it may be fake. All the adidas stuff I've bought is huge.
April 30th, 2010 at 11:26 AM ^
Well if it's smaller than it should be, it may be fake.
This line is what made it clear that you weren't talking about porn.
Until this point it was clearly up in the air.
Most women's clothing runs insanely small. Most women like to pretend this is false, and when asked their size, do not take this into account.
For example, I just got my order of stuff, and knowing it would probably run small, I got mediums although my real size is anywhere from XS to M depending on the brand, cut, etc. This was wise because the mediums are almost too small.
Adidas's women's shirts seem to run especially small. too. Last Christmas I bought some women's gear for loved ones and had to exchange it all for ones a size larger.
April 30th, 2010 at 11:22 AM ^
I ordered some stuff for my wife over christmas. The cotton t-shirts were just fine, but the athletic (wicking) shirt I got her had to be returned because it was REALLY small. She loved the design of the shirt but wasn't a big fan when she couldn't even come close to fitting into her normal size. At least she was good enough to be pissed at mgoblueshop and not me! Unfortunately I don't know what the brands were for each of the items, just that they all came from mgoblueshop.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:21 PM ^
But I ordered Small for my wife and it looks perfectly fine. Maybe you need to recalibrate your body image (Those pizzas are starting to add up Bouje!) ?
April 29th, 2010 at 10:11 PM ^
Everyone knows there are no monkeys on Mars.
April 29th, 2010 at 10:13 PM ^
and MGoBlueShop would put a sweatshop there because it's cheap labor that produces dog shit merchandise.
April 30th, 2010 at 10:10 AM ^
What's next? No santa Claus?
April 29th, 2010 at 10:43 PM ^
I said before when I got my stuff, the quality is shit. I think the toilet paper my wife buys is thicker than the tee shirts. The $4 hats were nice. The basketball hoodie is wearable, but I think that Bouje is correct about the tee shirts running small. I haven't tried them on as of yet.
My son is an adult medium and I suspect he'll be wearing some XL Michigan gear soon.
April 29th, 2010 at 10:46 PM ^
it fits great. it all seems to be good quality. guess i got lucky.
April 29th, 2010 at 11:06 PM ^
Well, you know MDen never went anywhere...
Gotta support your locally-owned brick-and-morter Michigan retail stores.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:14 AM ^
My first order finally arrived today, I feel like I can go on with my life now. Everything I ordered was in the box (well, I ordered 2 each of the maize poms and the maize/blue poms, but received 4 maize ones...whatever) and in the correct size. Everything fits, and the hockey jersey looks badass (the item I was most looking forward to having).
All in all, a complete clusterfuck from start to finish, and almost assuredly my last experience with MGoBlueShop. Unless perhaps if they have another ridiculous sale, and this time I make all my purchases, wait a bit, and then tell the mgoboard community. ;-)
Edit: FTR, all the Adidas t-shirts I bought seem to fit just as I expected they would: a little loose, but overall what I expect from an Adidas medium. In hindsight I should have gotten a S for the sideline polos, but oh well. Hockey jersey looks/fits awesome.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:54 AM ^
I've found the adidas hockey jerseys to be a bit flimsy and cheap in comparison to the Nike stuff, but that's just me. The white jerseys are so thin they're see-through.
I went with navy, and maybe I'm just a sucker for the big maize M on the jersey, but I really like it. I was hoping they'd have maize, though, but no dice. Looks like next time I'm in town I will have to swing by either the M-Den or Moe's.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:14 AM ^
Tell me that the sizes you rant about are because they are smaller than expected rather than larger because I went a size up from what I normally wear.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:16 AM ^
In my experiences with Adidas apparel, their stuff always runs large. A medium to them seems to be something in between a M and L for most other t-shirt makers. The sweatshirt I bought is a L, but seems more like an XL to me.
Did you call them before making your rant? When I placed my order they ended up overcharging me, I called in and they fixed the error within 5 minutes. I have the sideline polo, fits great, decent quality.
Last I checked they were offering BGraham, Minor, and Warren's jerseys for $24 apiece (from $50). That's a pretty good deal compared to the $90 Nike was.
I just got my order today. I am VERY pleased with the navy hockey jersey I bought. It's badass. I'm 5'11" and 170 lbs and I bought a small which fits me well (although I wouldn't be able to wear the pads underneath it). I got some adidas shirts which ran a little big, but I ordered M. I bought a maize adidas hoodie which I really like. The maize hat is nice. Overall, really only one shirt doesn't fit well and that's b/c I had to buy a large. I'm happy with what I got.
I paid $2.57 for a t-shirt and feel like I got ripped off. Seriously, I considered taking the shit to Goodwill but didn't want to tarnish Goodwill's reputation for low, but not pathetic, quality.
What's a good alternative for those of us 2,000 miles away that can't pop into a local brick and mortar store?
I've peeked at MDen's stuff. Everyone pleased with them? Any others?
You can't go wrong with the MDen! Great quality and amazing customer service. You won't be dissapointed.
Word
I got my shipment yesterday and I absolutely LOVE the stuff I got. The quality is top notch and no issues whatsoever with sizes.
I was a little pissed about having to wait 15 days to get my stuff though but it was definetely worth the wait (at least for me).
If you had trouble with the order, let the athletic department know. I got good stuff at a good price, but will still probably complain about the website because it was ridiculously unusable. The more complaints, the more likely that the athletic department goes with MDen when this contract expires.
April 30th, 2010 at 10:06 AM ^
and the order finally posted to my account yesterday. I will be happy if I get everything I ordered at this point. I should have walked away after the first hour of trying to place the order.
April 30th, 2010 at 10:50 AM ^
I sent an email to mgoblueshop telling them how dissapointed I am in their shipping time. 14 days and counting still for me. I told them I will not purchase from them again and that my money will be going to local M-Den and Moe's. I plan on emailing the athletic dept. to tell them the same. I figure if we get enough people to complain to the school we might have a chance to get them to switch back to the M-Den
April 30th, 2010 at 11:29 AM ^
I spent 2 1/2 days trying to get their crap. It still has not arrived. i called yesterday and the CS person said she would put a high priority on my shipment.
It was high priority alright. I got an email a few hours later saying half the stuff I ordered they no longer had.
I feel kind of empty. They did happily give me a code for 10% off my next purchase of 50 dollars or more.
Code: C26576K
In case anyone wants to use it. Jerry Jones must have been on one of his benders when he approved this sale. I seriously dont think they thought this through very well.
April 30th, 2010 at 11:59 AM ^
You must be shaped weird, I got all my stuff today and everything fits perfect. I never did get an email saying it shipped. It just appeared.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:34 PM ^
The T-shirt was of "normal" t-shirt size. All of the "performance gear" though is.. well fucking tiny.
I guess I'm glad that I was too busy at the time to even place an order.
My stuff finally came today although I am still waiting on the confirmation email. Most of the stuff seems ok but one long sleeve shirt I got has to be the thinest piece of clothing ever made but hey I added it all up and got $285 worth of gear for $60.
Women's shirts: You get what you pay for. Glad I didn't get these regular price. None were adidas and all ran small (L looks like a M, M looks like an S), FWIW. The "maize" on the sweatshirt is borderline orange, I prefer the yellow-er maize.
Hockey flag: Will look great in the apartment next year.
Pilsners: TINY. Did not accomodate a bottle of Oberon. But I have small hands so it works out ok.
Shot glasses: Once again, glad I didn't pay regular price, also glad to replace 4 broken ones.
