I would love to believe we have a shot, but the injury report just seems like a little too long to allow even that.  Tressel never has an issue getting his guys up for this one.

I believe the insane ugliness of the OSU uni's will cause such embarrassment that Tressel will be unable to get the team to leave the dressing room for the game.

Michigan, playing alone for the entire 60 minutes, will win a shoot-out 65 to 56 thereby ending OSU's painfully long winning streak.  Gerg will punch a stuffed animal to celebrate our final defensive stand having not noticed that OSU never actually fielded a team.

I'm a Michigan alum.   I'll be proud on Saturday regardless of the outcome.

but I concur.  with regards to the game, we may just have some magic from our boys.  stranger things have happened.

I just want this season to be over. Yeah, I'll hammer it down one more time for OSU,because they're the fucking rodents we naturally hate, but this has been a taxing fall.  I'd LOVE to see an upset Saturday, if only to cement Rich's future, and to get off the schneid, but I smell another tantalizingly close Tressel-ball OSU victory.  We'll remark about all the almost-plays, we'll bemoan Gerg and the 550 yards we gave up, rejoice at the one or two glimmers of hope our defense brings us.

I'm tired. Maybe after Saturday, when we're setting our sights on Miss. St  or Tx Tech, I'll start feeling better.

in the meantime, looking forward to Bork at the Big Chill. Sorry guys, I'm the biggest homer there is (hence the name), but Wisky kicked my ass mentally. Nail in the coffin-type ass kicking.

Happy Thanksgiving.

The reality is we have no shot, Tressel is a great coach we can't beat. After UMass, I realized we were in for a long, hard season against the better teams. 7-5 is exactly where I thought we would be(it is still real progress).

Saturday's game will be about more than a special moment, it will take a defenseive group that overachieves, makes every 1st contact tackle, causes at least 2 turnovers, keeps tOSU at 40% 3rd down conversion, and has a focused, prepared offense that takes off out of the gate like a gutshot cat(catch the damn ball). Special teams; field goals, kick off returns, kick off coverage will need to be perfect. Then we may be close.

This will be a gut check to see what our guys are made of. Play Spielman's radio statements once for all the team to hear. Then strap 'em on, get out there and fight like it's their last day on earth, leave everything in that cesspool they call the Horseshoe and send those tOSU SOB's out of their crying. That's what this program needs asap.

Well said, there are only so many sport's cliches we can use, but they are cliches for a reason. Sometimes things seem to work. This game is not played on paper, its played on the field. A college field at that where there is a greater chance to have "discrepancies from the norm." The boys in blue will have to take this game one down at a time and give it all they have. Even though the sky's may be gray(and scarlette it seems), there is always room for a miricle, a shoelace, or maybe even a lucky rainbow peaking through the clouds.

The pressers always seem to talk about this "full-ability" or "it would be crazy to think what would happen if everyone played the way we know they can," so what the hell; LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN! This is the last game in the big-ten season, and will be a telling story to the future of the program.

LoL, yeah, just a joke.

I do believe this game will be easier than the wisc game, even if its played in the place that shall not be named. I have been praying for a shootout all week. Logically thinking, I think that is the more likely way for us to win on saturday. As stated before, Tressel will be conservative, even moreso in his own building for fear of a loss(imo) if things get out of hand. Minimize the turnovers and the game is ours. Our D has progressed over the last few games, albiet slowly, but as the last game of the season, there is no better time than now. I also think a benefit to the younger players could be that ignorance is bliss, maybe they will be able to just do what they do, not get overwhelmed by the moment. Not sure how many people noticed this at the Olympics, but a 21 D-man for Canada, Drew Doughty was playing out of his mind, but on the bench he was just chillin bobing his head to the music during face-offs seemingly oblivious to all the hype and pressure that was around the Canadian hockey team to win gold. If our young kids can have this aditude it would help us greatly.  Get live, but be smart.Eeven though its "The Game;" its still a game that is played between 2 opposing sidelines that are perpendicular to 2 endzones. No more, No less.

Lastly, I don't think its far fetched to say that we have more to play for, but all the pressure is on them. We arn't pressured for a BTT, We arn't pressured for a BCS bowl, we are playing for ourselves and to prove that we are here, and we can stick with the big boys. Intrinsic motivation is much greater than anything that can be considered an extrinsic object of achievement.

Pure Columbian Awesome to get a W for the Blue Saturday.  There is one guy in particular that I would love to say "good game" to.  He has been berating me all season, and this week he has said to me "We (meaning osu) will win by at least 17", and "We (same) are going to break Denard's leg", and many other comments that I have blocked out.

I just want to smile and say "good game" to him Monday, and show him that there are some people with class in Columbus.

This thread is actually making me feel sort of confident about Saturday.  Thanks, guys.

My family's coming in to town to watch The Game / Thanksgiving, and I'm the token Michigan alum in the family.  Everyone else is neutral or an Ohio State fan.  So I'd better practice holding my chin up or something for the next couple of days to get ready.  Stupid 6-game slide.
