Softball sweeps FYS

In their 2nd to last series of the regular season, Softball took 2 from the Spartans in a home-and-home.  On senior night in Ann Arbor on Saturday, pink-clad (for breast-cancer) Wolverines absolutely obliterated FYS, 10 - 0, in a one-hit, 5 inning, mercy-rule affair.  Sunday's game was not so easy, with State leading 1 - 0 heading into the final inning at home.  Amanda Chidester, however, capitalized on two hit batters and an error from the Spartan ace, and smashed her first grand slam of the season.  Nemitz, who finished the game with no earned runs, made the lead stand up in the bottom of the 7th.

The Wolverines will close out the Big Ten season with a pair of games at Iowa.  Wins will secure an outright Big Ten championship.
