Softball SuperRegionals Open Thread

Submitted by MGoSoftball on

The Ragin Cajuns come to town and play the Mighty Michigan Softball Team.  Vegas Odds has us a 1.5 run favorite with a 11.5 O/U for Fridays game, we are the favorite to win the series as well.

In other Super Regional Action, in Normal Oklahoma, Oklahoma takes on Texas Agricultural & Mechanical.  The recent storms that produced an EF-5 tornado, did some damage to the playing fields.  The field is unplayable and no date has been announced for when the game can be played.

Later tonight Washington travels to Missouri.  Missouri is favored in that match up.

M ⚾ does not seem to be on national TV.

EDIT: Well now I know why. It's because the game isn't on tonight, so this thread is retarded. No on is going to watch the games that are on tonight.

The "Over/Under" is 11.5?!?  The pitchers' ERAs are 1.67 (Michigan's Sara Driesenga) and 1.73 (Jordan Wallace of ULL).  The teams gave up a combined 1 run last weekend in 6 games total--Michigan gave up 1 run in 3 games and ULL gave up 0 runs in 3 games.  I'm picking the "under" as my Lock of the Week.

Just looked it up and apparently it's listed as a line somewhere. Given that you would have to triple the last score to hit the over, I'm guessing this sportsbook will just be lucky if there isn't much action taken (which I have to guess will be the case).

was all centered on Vegas and had LSA as a regular, plus jamiemac doing his thing and Brian seeming to pick along Vegas lines in his preview, I'd say go for it.

About the thread, I originally thought the thread title referenced M playing. OTOH I came back to the apartment today and passed out for quite a while, so I was pretty groggy when I read it the first time. An open thread for M wouldn't have made much sense, but like I said above, question withdrawn if this had been the title the whole time.

The Texas A&M Corp of Cadets is sort of like ROTC.  42% of the Corp receive military commissions, the same as if they were graduates of West Point, Annapolis and Air Force. Until 1964, participation in the Corps was mandatory for all Texas A&M students.  During WW II, Texas A&M produced more commissioned U.S military officers than the U.S military academies combined.
