SHIT.

That damn 2nd base flip play caused this. I swear, one little mistake seems to mount in an inning for this team. This is dangerous.....

the theory on the batter's running swing?? I don't watch much softball except this time of year, so I am yet to see a batter successfully strike the ball on this approach. It seems dumb to me except it worked for Happy Gilmore, but that ball wasvstationary! Thx!

Typically LH batters start out deep in the box with their left foot on the back line.  The box in softball is larger than the box in baseball.

When the batter runs and "slaps" at the ball, they are 3-4 steps closer to first base.  The slapper will try to punch it between 3B and SS or slap down at the ball to make it bounce very high.  Quick batters will usually beat a throw unless it is hit directly at a fielder.

Get it?

SiLo's last 3 at-bats are a solo HR (at ASU), a single RBI and a single RBI.

And as I type that, MICHIGAN TAKES LEAD!!!
