Michigan Softball plays today at 3:30 EST on ----- vs. Pittsburgh.

ESPN downgraded coverage to ESPN3 online only! (espn sucks)

Win and they win the Regional and advance to the Super Regional (sweet 16)

If you haven't seen national player of the year Sierra Romero then you should tune in if for nothing else.

Sierra is a bulldog.  5'4" power hitter to all fields.   Her .469 batting average is tied for ninth in the country and ranks first in the Big Ten. She also leads the conference in RBI (74), runs (76) and walks (51).

As the announcers were talking her up, she laid down a beautiful surprise bunt in her first at bat against Oakland. Almost certainly the best all around offensive player in the country...

either. The announcers told a great story yesterday. Romo was playing SS but having arm pain, so she and Ramirez swapped positions for the betterment of the team. Romo had played 2nd before and making a shorter throw; while Ramirez could make that long throw. One huge sign of being a true team player is recognizing your limitations.. which means knowing you actually have limitations. No ego there in one of the best ever. So glad she's on our team!

#15 James Madison was knocked out of their Regional by NC State.

#2 Oregon won its Regional yesterday.

#9 Florida State won its Regional

#14 Georgia needs to win 2 against Western Kentucky.

Interesting results today:

Georgia run ruled WKU 12 - 3 in five innings. WKU's ace Kramer pulled in the first inning after walking four batters -- ended up with 6 ER in 0.2 IP. They will play again at 2:30 PM with the winner playing the winner of Michigan - Pitt in the super regional.

James Madison eliminated by Fordham. NC State then beat Fordham to win that regional.

FAU currently tied with Florida 0-0 in the sixth inning. FAU's Amanda Wilson has allowed the Gators only one hit.

Is anyone around that needs two tickets? I am giving away two- first row third base side. You have about 15 minutes before I just give them to someone at the gate. Email me samdruss [at] umich.edu. I will be at the main gate behind baseball center field

South Alabama just took the lead vs Auburn 3-2 in the 4th. Still bases loaded with one out. Edit: 4-2 USA going to the 5th.

Florida scored in top 8th to take 1-0 lead on FAU. FAU has chance to tie or win. Edit: they don't. Florida to the supers. Good job FAU. Shows that UF's lineup can be contained if you can hold them to only one or two hit by pitches.

Peter Sagan took the Tour of California by three seconds on time bonus on the final sprint.

together at Findlay for a few years in the late 90s and early 00s.  Dave worked for Findlay until it went bankrupt in the late 00s.

Dave is a Class Act and loves all things Michigan.

I probably know your Dad if he worked at Findlay Industries.
