one more and you have to like the odds of this lineup (esp Romero) contributing more offense and the umps owing us a call. Gotta fight but I like this team vs anyone in one game. That said, it's clear these are the two beat teams in the country. I'm not sure it's even close.

Yet another "edge of your seat" finish. This year has turned me into a Softball fan, and it's been a really fun ride. Our Women kick ass no matter how this ends, and I can't wait to see them compete tomorrow!

A little late in responding - hope you see this.  It's a big slogan of Carol Hutchins'.  The idea of "one-pitch softball" is that all you can control is one pitch at a time, whether on offense or defense.  You can't get too up or too down from what's happened earlier or what you hope or fear might happen later, you just have to be in the moment.  The game, as Hutch likes to say, doesn't know the rankings, who's a senior, who's an All-American, who's the favorite.  The game just knows the game, and that's all you can control - the ball, now.

I just can't even imagine the emotions Wagner has to be feeling right now.  She's had a great career, but not without it's ups & downs, including getting robbed of a chance to compete in the WCWS as a sophomore by an injury.  She's gained & lost the ace role multiple times, but just keeps going back to work.  Tonight, when her team needed her most, she put them on her back and earned herself the right to wear the Maize & Blue one last time.  No matter what happens tomorrow, she's a legend.
