softball: M 2 Miami OH 0
The M softball team didn't get much offense today with just 4 hits and 2 walks, but it was enough to get past Not That Miami. Wagner threw the first 5 innings for the win, allowing 2 hits, 1 walk, 1 hit batter, and struck out 3. Driesenga pitched the last 2 innings, allowing no baserunners and striking out 2.
Although Haylie's numbers are not dominating, there is one stat that is dominating. Of the 18 batters she faced, only 4 hit the ball into the air. Two were base hits and 2 fly outs.
Her numbers will improve as she gets more innings.
Thanks for not including last names like people have requested numerous times.
that I have seen is that when Sara comes in now in relief, it seems to be lights out where I don't remember that too much last year. They do compliment each other well.
Sara took some time to get settled in last year. The team rode the arm of Haylie. Sara got better as the year progressed and continued her improvement over the winter.
Now with Haylie back from the DL, we are Golden.
Do you guys all sit next to each other? How do you decide who posts the updates?
Nonetheless...appreciate the MGoLove for other sports. Always good to see what EVERYONE is doing.
considering the softball team is currently in Florida.
I sit in my office and click on Gametracker. I posted because no one else had yet.
Go Blue. Unfortunately the girls lost to Louisville today 5-4. Louisville avenged their sweep in last year's NCAA Tournament.
to start a new thread and piss off even more softball haters. However, I am too tired.
We lost another close one today against #13 Louisville.
Ashley Lane is starting to get hot the past few games. Today she went long once and ended up 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Amy Knapp remains hot as well as she went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored.
Sara took the lost giving up 5 ER on 7 hits. She struck out 4 and walked 6 of the 36 batters she faced. It is very clear from the data that the Plate Umpire had a tight strike zone. Six walks are a lot for Sara.
