Softball beats PSU 4-2, Betsa records 16 Ks to tie career high

A low scoring game today meant we needed stellar pitching. And we got it.

Michigan traveled to University Park to take on PSU in a 3-game series.

Though PSU took a 1-0 lead on a 2nd inning HR that just BARELY was fair, Betsa did not let the fluke HR stop her. She struck out two of the next three batters to bump her total to 4 Ks in just 2 innings.

PSU did not lead for very long. Michigan responded in the top of the 3rd to tie the game at 1-1 on a Romero RBI double.

It would stay 1-1 all the way until the final inning.

After Abby Ramirez walked, Si-Lo hit a 2-run shot to give Michigan the lead, 3-1. Si-Lo has been sensational lately.

After Kelly Christner reached on a HBP, Kelsey Susalla hit a triple down the LF line to score Christner and make it 4-1 Michigan.

Betsa got into a bit of jam in the bottom of the 7th. PSU had bases loaded with one out.

A groundout scored a run to make it a 4-2 Michigan lead, but Betsa struck out the final PSU batter to equal her career high in single game Ks.

Michigan wins 4-2.

Michigan is now 39-4 and 16-2 in the B1G. They'll play PSU again tomorrow in a doubleheader beginning at 2pm.
