So what are our rooting interests for Monday?

Submitted by West German Judge on
Do we root for the conference? Do we root for the team that beat us? Do we root for Ohio State because the rivalry is better with both teams at full strength? Or Fuck the Buckeyes? What's the company line, here?

I live in Ohio, you must respect them in fb like Duke in bb but fuck them both to infinity. We will be fine without Tosu winning Monday. Baughlieve!

Will never root for OSU personally. If they win, one can chant B-1-G for instance(sounds better than SEC). That said, screw Ohio State!

To be the best you have to beat the best. Go Suckeyes! Also it will be interesting to see the problems this would create with the 3 QB's, have to think if OU wins that 2 guys are transferring.

I was happy OSU made it to the NC, as f**k the SEC is a good thing, but I'd like to see the Ducks win....B1G notwithstanding.

Love only goes so far, and there wasn't much here to start with.

Tell me one good thing that comes out of OSU winning OP

And don't answer helps the Big 10.  OSU got into the playoffs by beating 2 teams of any value - MSU and Wisconsin.  And 1 team that was solid but destroyed by TCU - Minn.  And lost at home to an average team.

Win the Big 10 with 1 loss or less and you are going to the playoffs.  We dont need OSU to help.

They are direct competition in anything.

Harbaugh said that because he is a coach in a public platform.  We are not.

The only scenario I can see is the playoff committee choices. At the end of the season, if your schedule turns out to be sub-par, with the exception of your big rival game for instance, it may help out. If anything, this could just put the B1G ahead of the Big12 in the minds of the committee for a little while longer. In 2015, do we take a one loss B1G team vs the undefeated Big12 team? That perceived conference strength is going to be a factor in a four team playoff.

I can't believe this question is being asked.

Fuck OSU. I hope they get embarrassed and run off the field. I hope Mariota throws for 600 yards and makes Bosa look like a chump as he's chasing after him.

I hope OSU loses by 100. OSU winning the title helps OSU. It doesn't do anything for Michigan, except re-assert a perception that if you're going to play in the Big Ten, OSU should be the only place you want to go.

even if it's OSU, but I have a whole bunch of well-loved in-laws from Oregon (note: Ore Gin with a hard "G", not Ore "gone"!). So it's Go Ducks!

Everyone should be rooting for Oregon to complete annihilate OSU. The last thing we need, as M fans, is for OSU to get another title. This is their fourth title game appearance since 2002. That is nothing but bad for us from a recruiting standpoint. Plus, ask yourself this - would OSU fans be rooting for M to win if we were in the title game? The answer is hell no. I am not watching a single second of this game because I cannot stand seeing OSU and their fans be so happy and having this much success. I'd rather play Assassin's Creed Unity.

"to root" is a strong sentiment. Never will I cheer them on, but I'm not against them winning the NC as that will only lead to an even more enjoyable experience once we beat them next year.

if not, no way. Coach can say that out of wanting to be the quiet killer of our rivals (I get it) but no UM fan should want osu to win. I don't think he ACTUALLY wants osu to win. I dunno? I think they will but I want Oregon to win. I think both teams are fast but osu has size & speed. I think that will eventually work in their favor.

The only time I have ever rooted for the Buckeyes was in the national championship game against Miami. Rationale: they were playing a bunch of criminals. More fool me to use that reasoning to cheer for a team that was led by Maurice Clarett.

And besides, I will be in Portland on business Monday. One more reason to join the party and support the Ducks for one night..

If OSU wins the NC then Fort Ohio will be in full effect again and we'll never pry a top Ohio recruit from them so long as Urbz is there.  So for the sake of Michigan recruiting, QUACK.

As a Michigan fan, Oregon by 10 billion points.

As a rational forward thinking person giving thought to the future and worrying about the Big Ten's perception as a conference and how that might affect Michigan's playoff chances in future years....Oregon by 10 billion points.

I am against banning anyone unless they are being way beyond ridiculous, because people love Michigan football and have different opinions. This post should be cause for an immediate ban. F Ohio and the ducks should win by 1 million. Only if they were playing Al Quaida would I root for Ohio.

LOLK. Banned for asking a poll question in light of our coach offering public support. I asked an unbiased questions so as to not lead in response. But. You're a shit-tier poster to begin with. For the rest: I do not want Ohio State to win the first playoff, especially with an third string QB. Urban Meyer doesn't deserve that legend.

Fuck Ohio state. No benefit for Michigan if they win. We should never want our most hated rivals to win anything, much less the national championship. I'm fucking tired of Ohio state being better than us so I sure as hell dont want them to achieve such success.
