So now we are only a sunny day turf team?
Over the past two years, I have heard that we are not a rain, sleet, grass field, cold or snow team. Does this seem strange considering our location? Are our practice facilities too nice? Should they go across the road and tear it up on the golf course so that this is not even a mention? We are not the University of Bermuda.It just hurts my head to hear this.

I think this meme comes from the fact that RR is recruiting a lot of guys from Florida. I don't put much stock into it.

That would make sense if we hadn't been tied in regulation in one loss and lost by two to a #12 team in the other. Both of which we could have won save some mistakes that have nothing to do with weather or field type.

I think you could blame Tate's "fumble" on the weather along with his complaints that the balls were slick.

I don't think it makes a difference. If it weren't for the turnovers, Michigan would have had a great game on Saturday, and I don't believe the turnovers were a result of the weather. Most likely they were a result of Tate's shoulder and good Iowa defensive play. For the most part we played pretty well. Furthermore, Rich Rod recruited out of Florida when he was at WVU, and WVU is not exactly a fair weather school. Being in the mountains they get rainier, colder, snowier weather than we do. They did just fine there.

So, halfway thru a miserable season, I read where one of my fantasy baseball "studs" - Marlins pitcher Ricky Nolasco - pitches much better in the daytime. Sheesh. What do the Marlins do, play maybe 40 games a year during the day?
If RichRod can't coach in the cold, he would've failed at West Virginia.

I think bad weather (ie rain or snow) hinders our offense more than any defense can. We are using speedy little fellas that rely on their speed and agility to make plays. A team that hammers the ball up the middle and doesn't rely on players speed won't be affected as much by rain or snow. In my opinion, rain and snow will bring any 'speed' team down a notch. I don't believe the cold affects the Florida kids like some people seem to think. But I do think bad weather is more of a factor for 'speed' teams compared with the traditional Bo and woody teams.

We have played two games away from "sunny day turf" conditions. In both we were competitive, if not efficient. But again, only two games.
There is literally no conclusion you can draw on this question from those two games that would be supportable with this sample size.

Do you think (turnovers aside) that we played beneath our talent level against Iowa? I don't think so. And if not, where is the trend?
