So I met Lane and Layla Kiffin last night.

They were at a bar where I frequent often at around midnight. I congratulated him on his new position and asked him if he planned to move to the area and he said that he wasn't sure. I then made sure to introduce myself to his wife and shake her hand. She's definitely attractive but a bit too done up. It was odd to think that this young guy has coached the Raiders, Vols, and now SC. He just seems very unassuming and had I not known who he was he would have just been another guy at the bar. I'm not necessarily rooting for him to fail but I fully expect him to completely implode at some point. Should be entertaining to watch, especially if he continues to hit the town from time to time.

she definitely attracts attention and she seemed like one that appreciates it. She was very done up and your typical hot blond which really isn't my type. And around LA she is not going to stop any traffic. That said I wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers.

should have asked his wife if he's a "one and done" guy. it would seem that way to me considreing his last couple of coaching stints.

So Lane Kiffin is minding his own business, out for an unassuming drink or two with the wife at the end of an undoubtedly stressful week, is gracious enough to speak with you, a stranger who unwarrantedly intrudes, and you return home and proceed to post on an internet messageboard that you "fully expect him to implode" and then vaguely hints that he's... what? Somehow irresponsible for "hitting the town", even though, as far as I can tell from your post, he was merely enjoying a quiet drink? I don't get it.

I'm not sure how my post hinted that he's at all irresponsible for being out. Conversely I thought it was very human of him to both be out in public after such a tough weak and pretty decent of him to give a complete stranger 10 seconds of his time, not to mention meet his wife. And further my meeting he and his wife and my expectations of his success or failure at SC are independent events my friend. I'm not going to change my opinion of how he will do at SC JUST because I shook the guy's hand and he didn't spit on me. I guess there's always one in the bunch. And by the way, I didn't meet him then proceed home to post about the meeting. I met him Saturday night and posted it Sunday night.

What part of LA? I'm always curious to know which neighborhoods people like best there. (I'm not trying to be creepy. I used to live there and all my family is still there so I know the area pretty well).

I think when they hired Lane Kiffin they were really hiring Monty Kiffin. Did anyone see Tennessee's dedense this past season. Other than the bowl game they can play defense.

That's the scary part about him going to SC. We've seen what Monty can do with talent that's relatively equivalent to his opponent in the NFL and SEC, but now he's got a pretty stacked roster. (I'm assuming Monty is going to SC, unless he retired and I missed it). I guess we'll see how great of an offensive coach Chip Kelly really is.
