So how much longer can this go on?

DB said he would work quickly but carefully and everything seems to point to having this business wrapped up by midweek. But what if it's not? I know Tressel wasn't locked up until Jan. 17 however at some point not having an actual, you know, head coach is going to irreparably damage recruiting and thus the whole program for maybe more than just next season. So what is the true, hard-deck bottom line date to have a coach? As a card-carrying MGoLunatic I want this to be over before we all asplode.

I don't think it’s an accident that Brandon mentioned Tressel during his press conference. As long as he finds a new head coach by January 17, he can say that Michigan is no worse off than when Ohio State hired the Vest.

What has changed? Only that we’re in an attention-deficit era, and people seem to ignore that Michigan has been coach-less for less than five days. Brandon is running a nearly leak-proof shop, and lack of visible progress is getting equated with lack of any progress at all. The search could be 80 percent done or 20 percent done; we just don’t know.

If this were a movie, I would have inserted a tracking beacon inside DB's shoe or something.  We would have an Mgoblog command center with Brian as our commander.  We would all be siting around doing stuff staring at a huge glass board the projects DB's movement.

The posters with the most points will be our agents in the field who are always on DB's heel.  If this were the case we would know where and who he is talking to.
