Snowflakes; right in the A.

Year after year Michigan pulls in top 10 talent and year after year they fail to develop them. What's problem? Lack of urgency? Lack of focus? Lack of intensity? Lack of execution? (a Hoke favorite). Weeeeell, he's right. I blame him and the coaches.

Where are you coach Mattison? You're a legend and you're failing. Your new "aggressive" scheme is failing. Your line gets no pressure. It hasn't since Mike Martin left. You've taken your best defensive player out of his natural position. Jake Ryan is nowhere to be seen. Your secondary... Jesus, your secondary... I'm not even going there. GARY FUCKING NOVA LOOKS LIKE PEYTON FUCKING MANNING!!!

Who's brilliant idea was it to promote Roy Manning to the cornerbacks coach? I'll leave this here..

Funk.. Coach, motherfucking Funk. Why you still have a job, I know not. Your incompetence is only matched by your track record. I look forward to seeing you fired and ending up at a MAC school. That is all.

Coach Heck, you're cool.

Fred Jackson. 2006/2007 called to say that even in 2006/2007 you were bailed out by a great running back. You've not proven anything in quite some time. You're also lacking in your recruiting of Detroit and the South. You've out lived your purpose here. Harsh words but we all are thinking it.

Dougie, I'm sorry. You've walked into a no win situation. Even though our offense might be the equivalent of Helen Keller, you are no miracle worker.

Brady fucking Hoke, you're a nice guy. Players like you but they damn sure won't play for you. You've lost whatever control you had. Would it kill you to take action on the game at hand? No offense, but you look like an absolute mouth breather on the sideline. You're public speaking is second to none. You come off as a brilliant mind but you're wasting our time. You're not as bad as our last ex girlfriend but that's not saying much. You still bring nothing to the table.

Dave Brandon. Your time is up. The students, alumni and president have turned on you. A word of advice, go beg for your pizza boy job back. People won't think any worse of you. It's impossible.

Add what you will. This is the end of this coaching staff and AD. Time to flush these broken turds down the toilet.

What was the deal with our last scoring drive? We haven't run the ball that well all year and we don't do it until the 4th quarter?

Time to buy more Guinness and Jamison, this is just fucking dumb.

Do the University, the fans, the players all a favor. Fire everyone immediately.

Hire me to be your head coach, OC, DC, special teams coach, every position coach and act as all graduate assistants for the team. Pay me 250k for the remainder of the year. The University will save millions of dollars.

Why do this? At least when people learn of our program on ESPN and Sportscenter they will say "Oh, they have one schmuck that knows nothing about football coaching every position? Well, that makes sense, it's his fault. Those poor players."

Instead of having "elite" or "hyped" coaches constantly failing on a weekly basis.

Just do us all a favor, hell I'll do it for free.

Caught it, two steps, and didn't lose it till it hit the ground. THE GROUND. How do you confirm that?!

I know we sucked but we got boned hard.

Also, lol at Rutgers storming the field for beating a 2-3 team

With another first. First 0-2 start in conf play since 1967. Was longest streak in FBS. Hey loser, are our goals still in front of us? Keep clapping slappy. Gtfo. See you guys later. I am done with this shit until hoke and brandon are gone. Peace I am out.

Holy shit blaming that blown call is all the more proof of the nose dive this program has taken. What kind of outcry would there have been if Michigan beat rutgers by less than a score ten years ago? Now we're blaming the refs after this team made Gary Nova look like Peyton Manning.

This team's looked worse on the field against worse teams. The coaches could've called a worse game. This one hurts because the team had a chance in the end. Bad calls happen. Blocked field goals, less often. The boys didn't have the luck tonight, and they needed it, and they needed Peppers...

We were beat by a team that is superior to us in every phase of the game.  The sad part is the same can be said for every remaining game on the schedule.  2-10 is a likely finish this season.  We look a step slower even to Rutgers at every position on the field...how is that possible?  I also think we had less than 10 plays in the game were at least one Rutgers player did not run into our backfield untouched.  Im afraid the situation looks beyond repair.

The good news is if the refs hadn't blown the call and we'd scored a late TD; or, and this stretches the bounds of credulity, if Wile had actully made the FG, the defense still would have allowed a late score--a TD, a FG, whatever Rutgers would have needed to win--anyway.  So wev've got that going for us...which is nice.

Alabama lost to an inferior opponent? Oklahoma lost to an inferior opponent? Texas A&M lost to an inferior opponent? Oregon lose to an inferior opponent? Holy crap, this could be a good football weekend!

NOPE!! This is Michigan FerGodsakes. We will lose regardless if the powerhouses are winning or not. Well...Tremendous...Toughness...Lost.

It wasn't a fucking catch per the rule. Be mad at the rule if you want, but the officials called it the way the rule is written. There isn't a fucking conspiracy to rob us of our 4 win season.

The Barwis Effect

October 4th, 2014 at 11:51 PM ^

If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent) he must maintain complete and continuous control of the ball throughout the process of contacting the ground, whether in the field of play or in the end zone. This is also required for a player attempting to make a catch at the sideline and going to the ground out of bounds. If he loses control of the ball which then touches the ground before he regains control, it is not a catch. If he regains control inbounds prior to the ball touching the ground it is a catch.

Well that is where the debate lies, was the act of going to the ground part of the catch or was it him diving for the first down marker?

Catch, Interception, Recovery
Article 3.

a. To catch a ball means that a player:

1. secures control of a live ball in flight with his hands or arms before the ball
touches the ground.

He clearly completes this act.

2. touches the ground in bounds with any part of his body, and then

He clearly was in bounds

3. maintains control of the ball long enough to enable him to perform an act
common to the game, i.e., long enough to pitch or hand the ball, advance it,
avoid or ward off an opponent, etc.

He clearly completes this act.

4. satisfies paragraphs b, c, and d below.
b. If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without
contact by an opponent) he must maintain complete and continuous control of
the ball throughout the process of contacting the ground, whether in the field
of play or in the end zone. This is also required for a player attempting to
make a catch at the sideline and going to the ground out of bounds. If he loses
control of the ball which then touches the ground before he regains control, it
is not a catch. If he regains control inbounds prior to the ball touching the
ground it is a catch.

There was no damn way that him going to the ground was part of the catch, he caught the ball took two steps and dove for the first down marker.

c. If the player loses control of the ball while simultaneously touching the
ground with any part of his body, or if there is doubt that the acts were
simultaneous, it is not a catch. If a player has control of the ball, a slight
movement of the ball will not be considered loss of possession; he must lose
control of the ball in order for there to be a loss of possession.

He never loss control of the ball while simultaneously touching the ground with any part of his body, the ball came out after the catch.

d. If the ball touches the ground after the player secures control and continues to maintain control, and the elements above are satisfied, it is a catch.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPEN, the rule clearly states this is a catch!

To me it was part of the catch. I mean if you watch it live it looks like part of the catch. If you watch it in super slow motion maybe you could say it was after the catch was completed, but I guess for some reason in your mind the officials just completely tried to screw us. They called it right get the fuck over it.

How about you shut the fuck up...It obviously wasn't a fucking catch and that's why it wasn't fucking reviewed in the first place you fucking nitwit and that's why when it was reviewed it was confirmed as an incompletion you fucking moron. But keep believing there is some conspiracy theory to screw us from going 4-8. Better keep the tin foil hat on fucktard.

Ball hitting the ground was not part of the catch. He caught, turned, took two steps, and lunged for the ground past the marker. Rule misapplied. Period. Not just to screw us. But wrongly applied when inapplicable. That mistake: screwed us. But that's also how this year has been going.

From Rule 2 Section 4 Article 3:

If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent) he must maintain complete and continuous control of the ball throughout the process of contacting the ground, whether in the field of play or in the end zone. This is also required for a player attempting to make a catch at the sideline and going to the ground out of bounds. If he loses control of the ball which then touches the ground before he regains control it is not a catch. If he regains control inbounds prior to the ball touching the ground it is a catch

& made a move at the sideline. So rule doesn't apply as you're thinking. It's a completion & running with the ball. At which point that could only be a fumble, except it twice couldn't be because in college he's down when the ball in his complete possession touches the ground & he and the ball are out of bounds already

Suppose for a moment the the Big House looks like Penn St. West next Sat night due to a near complete takeover by rabid Penn St. fans stil upset by what we did to them (repeatedly) during Carr's tenure.

Will it even matter?

I mean, revenue is revenue, right? And who cares who is buying the refreshments as long as they are being sold?  Bottom line is that it's the bottom line, right?

Is it embarrassing that the stadiums is filled with visitors instead of the home team fans?  Yes.  Bad for business?  No.

Dave Brandon = Jerry Jones.

Sorry to be so cynical, but I really think this is how Brandon's brain operates.
