The Snowflake Thread: Defense

Submitted by LSAClassOf2000 on

This will be the thread for your snowflakes on defense and the defensive playcalling. Start with pass defense and work down from there - that's my own recommendation.

Defense played great, but I think they wore down at the end a little after being on the field all night.  Frank Clark was beast tonight though.

Despite the slight crack above, the defense yet again did a nice job overall - 264 yards allowed on 84 plays (49 passing, 35 rushing), which works out to an impressive high-level average of 3.14 yards allowed per play. Indeed, no need to talk about the Wildcats' on the ground at -9 yards rushing. We gave up 8.25 yards per completion in the air and Northwestern averaged 5.39 yards per attempt.

No no no no...the defense is part of the problem. /s

Where are all the idiots that have been saying that? An absolute shame this defense has been crippled by the offense. Literally the best play by the offense was the contain by Mason Cole after the pick.

They loosened up at the end for some reason but by and large played fantastic.   Maryland likes to throw the ball a lot ,so they will probably be a challenge, but Michigan will  have 2 weeks to get ready for it.

Now if the offense can just do something somehow...  at least stop turning the ball over.

Of The Curse of Brian, who started watching in the fourth quarter and flipped the Schrodinger switch from Trivial Simeon to The Unstoppable Throw God. More seriously I'm not sure what happened, but the cognitive dissonance of the -28 yard drive off the long interception return for no points versus the 95 yard drive for a FG was jarring.
