The thoughts and hot takes on the coaching and in-game decisions can go here.

The shot of Hoke standing there with his arms folded, no headset, looking clueless and staring into space as the clock rolled down and a timeout remained on the board could be the most sufficient indictment of the failures of the Hoke era.

Nuss:  Hey Coach, you know they are trying to beat us, right?

Hoke:  Ummm (blank look)

Nuss:  I mean, they are not just playing against themselves like we are

Hoke:  Well, I was aware, but not f...

Nuss:  So, they are trying to figure out what we do and exploit our weaknesses.  Like this for example, now they are going up tempo on your defense

Hoke:  Timeout!!

After enduring a year when I thought we had already run out of nails for the coffin, we pull out one more by laying a turd against Maryland.   Welcome to the B1G Maryland and Rutgers.   You marked your territory well against us.

I had high hopes after Year 1 of the Hoke coaching regime.   Sigh.

Nothing else to add.

Well its horrible - but at least makes Hackett's decision crystal clear.  There are still somehow holdouts for Hoke after a season when it was over by  game 5.  Amazingly.

really doesn't matter.  (You call it early on the slight chance that they turn the ball over on the next play, which means you have more time on the clock, but it doesn't affect win odds by an appreciable amount.)

BUT, what does matter is that you need to be organized enough that you don't waste them earlier in the half.

Jesus, another game where we outgain our opponent and yet lose.  Do we get a trophy for that?

by and large--  the Same Ol Same Ol from Nuss-O.  Nuss can NOT get TDs for one reason or another.

A Lot Of Incompetance from the players.

Mattison  ??  I dunno  . . .

I feel the jury is still out on Nuss. The Offense has been steadily evolving, with an immense about young players. Add to that a QB who cannot compitently throw downfield, a yound/developing Oline and a star WR who cannot catch a cold... Yea.

It seemed like the calls were there, but the execution was poor. There were guys open, but the ball was dropped. The holes are starting to be there, but the RB made poor cuts... The offense is more coohesive and organized then this point last year and you can see the direction it is developing in to after 9 months

Everytime DG lined up under center I wanted to go full tourettes.   I would love to know the average yds per play in the shotgun vs under center. I am too pissed off to review that shit show to figure out but my gut tells me there is a huge difference.  Bottom line, NUSS can hit the fucking road right along with coach FOKE.

In the vain of why does our coaching staff do so many things that don't make any sense.

Hoke has said before that he never eats before games.  How much does this affect his decision making ability?  Seriously.  I wonder if he subconsciously knows the reward of food is there even if the reward of a win isn't.  So the win doesn't matter as much.

I now wish him full throttled fairwell. Another amazingly uninspiring performance after a bye week against a team that we should have solidly beat.

Instead we beat ourselves, with drops, bad timeouts, and the amazing ability to make opposing quarerbacks look worthly of the Heisman consideration. Seriously: I cannot name the last QB that was good that we made look even remotely bad.

The sad part is that Nuss, Mattison (and even Hoke) will get picked up by other programs and be successful... And make us shake our heads and wonder why and why not here.

He just looked lost out there. When is the last time Hoke was on the sideline and looked like he knew what he was doing?! 2011? I really don't remember. This year has been a trainwreck and last year wasn't much better. Hoke should be sent packing tonight or tomorrow. It's not going to make a difference against Ohio State.

"Brady?"

"Oh hi, hon. Well......we didn't win."

"Yeah, I know. I watched the game. I told you to wear a headset, but oh, no, you were too stubborn."

" Well, I wasn't going to let the press and the muggles on MGoBlog tell me what to do. Plus we had a really good week of practice without the headset."

"Well, you didn't wear the set, and you didn't win, and look where it's getting us. I moved from freaking California to this shit weather, and you couldn't win except with Rich Rod's players? And it's all because of the headset thing."

"Well, my head's soft and headsets hurt my head."

"From now on you'll listen to me, ya big lug. {sob}."

"Have you found a real estate agent, hon?"

I said after Utah Home should have been cut loose.  Supposedly he was being kept for recruiting.  Well that's gone to shit AND this team underperformed all year.  They are who we thought they are!

Tonight, my wife who knows very little about football was yelling to call a timeout at the end of the game.  She said before the last play," That dummy isn't going to have any time left!". My wife who isn't getting paid $3M a year makes better decisions than Hoke!

Even my wife would have done better as an interm coach.  He best announce that OSU will be his last game at the podium.

...still trying to turn DG into an under-center dropback passer with 2 games left in his career and taking out Drake Johnson with a hot hand for Deveon Smith in the middle of drives.

That was 2 weeks of 'game planning' at work.
