Slippery Rock Weekly Update

Submitted by nmumike on

Sorry for the delay in posting this. My heart still hurts from the PSU debacle. My wife is a PSU alum...

Anyways, the Rock had a tough game on the schedule this week as it played #7 ranked IUP at home. Slippery Rock dominated the entire game, easily dismantling them on their way to a 42-10 victory.

From the article: The Rock, who averaged 389.6 passing and 565.4 total yards in their first five games, collected 449 passing yards and 676 total yards Saturday against an IUP defense that had allowed its first five opponents only 118.2 passing and 213.4 total yards.

Although they handed IUP their first defeat of the season, the Rock are still not ranked in the top 25.

That's 449 passing yards against their AVERAGE of 399.5 passing yards per game as well, part of an offense that averages 583 yards per game. Still, I look at the passing stats and think "Division II's answer the Air Raid? The numbers make it look that way..."
