(Slight) MD DT Darian Cooper Update (Not TomVH)

Submitted by DGDestroys on

SIAP...but back-to-back posts..whoa!

Anyway, It appears that all hope for MD DT Darian Cooper is not yet lost. Four days ago, it appeared as though Darian had eliminated Michigan, per a GBW report. However, Tom retweeted this from Cooper on Thursday:

DT Darian Cooper RT @SuperCooper93michigan coach just left my house

Intrigued, I did a little snooping. a dismayed fan asked him the following question over twitter:

@SuperCooper93 you really dropped Michigan???say it ain't so!!! Good luck whoever you choose, except when you play the maize and blue

Darian responded with the following:

@JRednick no I just want to know what happens with the coaching staff

So, it looks like, once the coaching situation is resolved, we could still have a very real shot with the kid.

Im not sure that people were freaking out, but this is something other than a CC thread to talk about and its not shitty news, so I'll take it. We need decent news to read up until D-Day (Brandon's decision) and signing day and this qualifies for me.

That's not irony.  It's a scouting report and a report on a recruit's intentions to play college football at Michigan.

I'm not saying we shouldn't care about recruiting, period.  I enjoy following recruiting.  But I'm also not bent out of shape that some random kids from around the country haven't announced their intentions yet.

I am amazed this staff can get any players to commit, but Michigan is a very powerful and great place. These coaches definitely have been pretty good at closing medium range to potentially good defensive talent.   Probably not the size and explosiveness we need to kick butt in the conference, but I guess good enough for what the coaches must think we need.  Whole other issue there.

Not a big surprise. David Brandon's "limbo" was never having as big of an effect on recruiting as some people are claiming.

Also, TomVH (if you see this) would you please stick to recruiting news and do not tweet about the coaching situation anymore. I'd appreciate it. Unfortunately, your tweet a couple days ago added a lot of gasoline to the negativity inferno.

Please show me where I have "been tweeting a lot of things like, Good week for Rich Rodriguez, even though he might not have a job in a couple weeks."

Here's my Twitter feed for anyone to see...

The only tweet that even remotely comes close to what you're accusing me of is the one that says, "Rich Rodriguez should be applauded for gaining two quality commitments this week despite not knowing if he'll have a job in 3 weeks."

That's not all that negative to me, considering he doesn't know if he'll have a job. My Twitter feed is not regulated by anyone but me, and I'll tweet about anything I'd like to. If you don't like it, then don't follow me on there, or don't read it. I'm a big fan of Rich Rodriguez, how you're interpreting my tweets is not my problem.

Rich Rodriguez should be applauded for gaining two quality commitments this week despite not knowing if he'll have a job in 3 weeks.

I just think the last part is entirely unnecessary, that's all. I wasn't trying to be a dick.

That's fine if you think it's unnecessary, but I want to make sure that everyone knows I haven't been saying Rich Rodriguez might not have a job in a few weeks, and I haven't been saying it a lot.

Me saying that Rich Rodriguez doesn't know if he'll have a job in three weeks (which is true), is completely different than me saying that I think he might not have a job in a few weeks.

I thought he was talking about your Dallas Crawford tweet a few days ago when I first read that comment. Not that the Dallas tweet was bad, you were just stating the facts. Dallas is taking a peek just in case, which I would too. Colorado's new staff has rescinded a couple of offers since they have been hired. There is no guarantee any of these kids will even keep their offer if a new staff comes in.

Saying that TomVH has taken a Sharp/Rosenberg approach is beyond ridiculous. The tweet in question is pretty damn positive, ya jackwagon!..Tom's point that it is impressive to land Blake & Morgan when RR doesn't know if he'll have a job is true and on the mark.

Love hearing about Defensive recruits being interested. Also, Would LOVE to see some highly rated horses in the front 7 of the D, but will never be upset about a talented DB committed or being interested. With the horrific recent injury history of our secondary, I think depth is a great thing.

Tom VH is the man! Free insider access on recruits we creepily wait around to hear about is awesome!
