Sitting a row behind us and 5 seats down

Henrik Zetterberg. My initial reaction was "Dude's worth millions- why the hell is he sitting HERE" .  My daughter (11 y/o and big Wings fan ever since he hattied in the 3rd period against Blue Jackets on her birthday) kept making googly eyes at him.  "OMG he's so handsome".  I can put up with that, as opposed to Taylor Lautner or some other Teen Idol of the Moment.

Nobody messed with him, which was cool. Our eyes locked at one point (because my daughter said "his beard needs a trim") and he winked at me. I melted like buttah.  So, I got that going for me.

Or it didn't happen!

But seriously, that's pretty sweet. Every time I've run into Wings around Michigan they've been really cool to chat and shake hands, but I must say, I've never had on wink at me...lucky!

Yeah, it's always a touchy thing, asking for a photo with someone like that. I think if you are respectful, asking for a photo is alright. But that is just me, and being respectful is a big key. If the person says no, you smile, say you understand, and wish him/her a good day.

If you are a Rangers and/or a Wolverine hockey fan you'll like this; Stephan Matteau was at the game as well.

His son is one of the top  junior players in Canada and is training in Ann Arbor with a junior team.

Will young Stef become a Wolverine?

Time will tell.

True.  I actually didn't say anything to hiim, figure'd I'd let him enjoy the game.

A famous person sighting at a sporting event I DID say something to though was when A-Rod was about 5 feet in front of me going into Cameron for a Duke basketball game a few years ago.  I couldn't help myself and started chanting "Yankees suck!  Tigers rule!"  The Tigers won the AL championship the following season.  I'd like to think my taunt of A-Rod had something to do with it.

Zetterberg is my favorite Red Wing.  Who knew he was a Michigan fan!!???

Way to keep it classy and let him enjoy the game.  He probably got a kick out of your daughter's comments, though!

with Zetterberg and David Legwand (Nashiville Predators).  Legwand's father is a long time season ticket holder that has seats with my friends father (they used to work toegether). He sent me the below pic yesterday:

That sweater does seem a little much for yesterday's weather, but he looks good.  I can't help but think how ridiculous pretty much anyone else would look in that sweater (just picture one of your buddies showing up at your next tailgate with that on - the razzing would not end until 2013).

Just another thing star athletes can do that we can't.
