Single Game tickets on sale for donors

Submitted by strick23 on

Logged in at 8:30 to check prices.  Looks like $225 (in the endzones) are cheapest.  Ouch!

I was just buying one ND ticket and had it in the cart for the $195 price and when I went to hit submit an error message came up that said PD is no longer that price. Wasn't sure what was going on at first, but went back and put another ticket in my cart and the $225 price went along with it and it let me checkout.

Whew. AD just took me for a ride and some loot but well worth it.

When I went to checkout at $195 apiece, I got the error message that the price went up to $225 apiece....but it never went to $225 in my cart and I could never check out, eventually my time expired...I tried again at that point and luckily I got 2 more at $225 and it let me checkout. Whew!

Got 4 at $195 for Notre Dame, set the alarm for 5 AM (Pacific), was not going to miss this.  Did not have any of the $225 issues others mentioned

Out of Control... but very smart move by the Athletic Department.  I just missed the good ol' days when i could score two "piggy back" seats for face value ($75 or so at the time?).  I basically backpacked one ticket, then kept refreshing trying to buy another ticket that was the same section, same seat, but one row above/below.  I did this for the 2009 ND vs Michigan game.  My girlfriend sat behind me.

...does anyone know when we get our season tickets in the mail?  I could call the ticket office, but I'm in a meeting right and thought I would try the Mgoblogeratti.

Pricing is cheaper than StubHub for the big games and more expensive than StubHub for the lesser games. I guess they don't care to have a full stadium for Akron.

I could not force myself to pull the trigger.  I have 4 in the cart for ND, totaling $926.  I'm going to take a chance that I can find some cheaper through friends or scalpers on game day.

So, as a recent graduate of our fine university, how do I navigate the convoluted season ticket "interest" process?  I've purchased season tickets from my parents for this year, but I'd like to move on to getting my own.

Donate $500 between now and April 30, 2014, and -- if there's enough supply -- you'll be offered season tickets next Summer.  Others may be able to comment on whether $500 is enough these days (I suspect it is), because whether you get them or not is based on your Priority Points (so make sure your AD account credits you as being a grad, since that gives you points, too.)  You don't have to pay a PSD in the first year, so beyond the price of the actual tickets and the $500, that's all you're in for year one.  In subsequent years you can drop the $500, but you add the PSD.

"Also made me so mad I won't attend a game but the opener"

If you really want to go to the games go then. Don't let them win. Their are other ways to get tickets cheap but they require a little more work. If I were to boycott the games, I would feel it more than they would feel it. I'm just a drop in the bucket to them. You only live once.

Tickets for this game are going to be expensive regardless.  Dynamic pricing just allows for the University to collect most of the profit as oppose to scalpers.  And from what I have heard, these are still cheaper than StubHub.

The people this hurts the most are people like you, who want to buy the tickets at face and actually go to the game (not sell the tickets).  But, word from the inside (whether true or not), was that the majority of major game tickets bought through Mgoblue.com at face were resold at helfty profits.

Your first paragraph is exactly why this is brilliant.  These were already the prices -- it's just that scalpers were the one to benefit.  Now the University gets to capture that additional money.  I can't speak for everyone else, but I'd much rather the University gets that money than the scalpers.

The alternative wasn't the University unloading all these as single tickets for face value (think about it: if they did, they'd end up in the hands of the scalpers who would sell them to you for much more).
