I have a feeling that even if he doesnt permanently make a roster, he could be one of those guys that gets 10-day contracts to fill in for injured players. There are a lot of aging teams (Celtics are one but there are others) that usually have one or two players break down during the season. Sims would be a great short-term sign to come off the bench for 5-ish minutes a game to fill in while the regulars are injured.

Hopefully he would be able to facilitate this type of spot-work into a full-time gig which does occasionally happen.

It looked like DeShawn was playing the 3.  If he catches on in the league (which, obvs., would be fantastic), I've got a feeling it's going to be at that position.  I think he's definitely got the offensive tools, but I just hope he can match up defensively with NBA wings.

Too bad it's the only game he has played well so far.  I wish him nothing but the best. I hope he still has enough time to make a positive impression on his team because the other 2 summer league games he only had 2 pts and 0 pts.

In the first two SL games he got limited minutes and the minutes he did get were in streaky 4 minute intervals. I think he only played 8 minutes total on Tuesday. Wednesday was the first real chance Peedi had to get into the flow of the game and showcase his skills. 18 points in 16 minutes with a .727 FG% is not too shabby.

EDIT: post is in response to umuncfan11

in the portsmount invitational as well.  although, as umuncfan11 stated, his first 2 games were forgettable, hopefully he can string together a few more good performances.  he certainly has talent, the question is whether he has a "position" in the league.

He should check out the Heat.  They've got about 10 open roster slots and I'm sure he'd be open to playing for minimum wage which I believe is around $500k.

DeShawn Sims will play some years in the NBA.  He will never be a star, but I will cheer voraciously for him.  I hope he socks away a ton of money and is basically retired at 30.  Love that guy.

Sims had 10 and 5 tonight in 16 minutes. looks like they are starting to give him a little bit of a chance to prove himself. I think he will have to have a couple 20+ point games to have a shot at making the roster though.
