I presume that when their new recruits are added to Scout, they will pass us there, too. (Unless Elliott decommits...). Seriously, what a heavy hammer the NCAA has wielded against Ohio.
Signing Day Open Thread
They can only have 82 total scholarship players. Think after today we will be at the 85 limit with out any of the normal players transferring during the summer. So basically 3 scholarships doesnt mean much at all.
It's adorable that you think they actually got punished. The lack of a bowl game last year was really the only punishment they had. This is exactly why schools cheat, the rewards are greater than the punishment.
Far greater. Bowl bans are the only real punishment.
I obviously realize that they in fact were hardly punished at all for such major violations, that's been a known fact everywhere except Columbus for some time. But what's wrong with a little rant about it on the board on a day where the lack of punishment couldn't be more obvious?
Also, "adorable"? Odd choice of word
Wow, what a riveting interview with Jordan Cunningham.
"So, I'm supposed to say where I'm going now?"
I know these are kids and they're out of their element but come on, at least be prepared.
Seems like a good kid. Mostly talked about education instead of football.
It sounds like Fox may be in.
EDIT: Chris Fox is in per Tom VH!
I cannot wait for the spectacular implosion that will be the Urban Meyer era at OSU.
Just what is it about a coach who has been a great success at every head coaching job he's had that is telling you he's going to "implode" at an already very successful program with in-state access to a large pool of football talent? Especially given the fact that the university he now works for has made it abundantly clear that they have no compunction about cheating, and know the NCAA is a pathetically toothless organization?
What time is Hoke's signing day press conference?
Am I reading this right? Stanford has only 12 commits this year?
Oh wow I didn't realize that. It seems like their name was out there for some top level players but apparently they couldn't close. Or maybe that's just how their scholly numbers worked out.
Poggi, Dawson, and McCray.
Bell is updated to ohio on scout and they are still behind us.
They probably haven't recalculated the points yet. Trieu said on the radio that Bell would put them ahead of us.
Dosent he realize that he has hundreds of Mgobloggers holding their breath?
I believe his school is having an event for him at either 11 or noon, so expect his LOI around then.
I love our recruiting class, we have a bunch of blue collar 'get-after-it' players. Even tho Ohio got its #1 or close to #1 class we will have all the pieces in place to throw down with them. We will beat Ohio. So, Ohio enjoy Von Bell, and OIe Miss can enjoy Treadwell, Tunsil, ECT. We will enjoy making ya'll bloody.
Not that it matters, but scout still has us #1.
Edit: Nvm. They've added Bell to OSU's list, but haven't put it into the formula yet.
Ezekiel Elliot has his press conference scheduled for the same time as Pinkel's. OSU guys on twitter are not confident.
If it makes you feel better on the 247composite, OSU is still #2 even with Bell and UM is still at #4.
So apparently Ole Miss has a pretty good class coming in?
That is all
I wouldn't have minded Finley and Reschke. Terry has a shot to be a player, the rest of their class is actually pretty laughably bad. Where's the threat?
Terry is already being hailed as their savior.
No. 2 safety Antonio Conner.
They are killing it today ....Boosters must have deep pockets :/
Trying to be subjective and looking at the classes, Ohio State's OL recruiting the past two years has been atrocious. This makes me smile.
OSU has a great class and they closed well. But they're higher in the rankings because their 4 stars are in the top 100, and ours are in the 100-250 range. How meaningful of a distinction is that? Well, we'll find out. But I tend to think that our consecutive top-5ish classes are close enough that coaching will be the determining factor.
Cite? I don't see it on MGoBlue
I want to hear it from the Wolverine's mouth.
One person on twitter said it was in and it seems that it was premature.
Seriously? You just set yourself up.
Poggi just said it'll be in within the hour per Wolverine Nation.
LOI will be within the next hour
Wow could it be any more obvious at Ole Miss? They now have 4 5-stars.
Ole Miss is going to make a great ESPN 30 for 30 some day.
I can hear it now... "But the runnin' rebels couldn't run from the accusations forever."
There is already. It is about how the whites at Ole Miss hate blacks all the time except during football season. But aside from that, what black athlete wouldn't want to go play for them?
Al Golden complaining about NCAA investigation on ESPN. Everyone knows they are dirty whether the NCAA proves it or not. They are also now in the middle of a steroid scandal as well. Sseeing how they signed 33 guys last year I have no sympathy what so ever.
I have no problem with them signing 33 guys if they had the room for them.
The fact that they were able to sign 33 guys last year and a highly rated class at that would seem to indicate that the investigation isn't the main reason there recruting sucks this year. If anything they are under less of a cloud this year then they were last year as far as future NCAA sanctions. I think Golden is using it as an excuse for his poor recruiting class.
