The Significance of School Colors

Submitted by goblubigguy on

So our school colors are maize and blue, right?  I found it interesting that when Rich Rod became the UM head football coach that the colors and uniforms were quite similar to those of WVU.  The tradition of Michigan football has dictated that our uniforms remain loyal to the university colors.

But whoa, then Nike entered the picture and now Oregon (The University of, University of or whatever of anything of whatever) has something approximating 300 different football uniforms.  WTF?  WTF Phil Knight's influence on Ducks' ball?

So now Nike is the official sponsor of WVA and the blue mountain school seems  have almost as many football uniforms as Oregon.  They are wearing some uniforms in tonight's whatever bowl that appear to be colored white, black and silver, with just a touch of blue/yellow on the numbers.  Is this Slut University Sports?

Then there is Notre Dame: the colors are dark blue and gold, but oh shit when the Domers really really need a victory before the old alumni crap their pants they wear green and some form of gold.  This is yet another slut college.

Well then we have to mention Sparty University with Nike uniforms that are as goofy as are their academic/social/criminal standards.  Just how many variations of shit green and white can one pathetic just above community college university have?

Maybe our last couple of years sucked, but we have the integrity of maintaining our colors and essentailly the same uniforms for the past 100 years.

Goodbye: Anthony Zettel. Book it. Neg bomb me away if it doesn't happen, but I've got a credible source that affirms Zettel is 95% Blue but hates the color yellow. Anthony Zettel is only announced he is going to PSU at 7:30 tonight because he hates maize.  GeauxBlueFinest it.

Personally I like the limited Pro Combat Jersey's Nike released this year.  Some are better than others, i.e. Oregon State's throwbacks for the Civil War game, and the ones WVU is wearing tonight.

According to the Nike website the WVU jersey is a tribute to the coal miners who are the cornerstone of the region.  The helmet is to signify the color of a miner helmet that is exiting the coal mine, covered in dust with a single light (small yellow stripe).  The numbers have a similar "dusted coal" color scheme.  I dont see WVU wearing more than 3 unis this year so not sure why this was even a thread.

My favorite part is how vague your descriptions and facts are. All very ambiguous and uninformed. At least try to come up with the Bowl's name and don't refer to schools as "slut" schools, just because they're colors aren't as traditional as the Maize and Blue. The uniforms are streamlined and contemporary, and alot of people like them. It just wouldn't work at UM.

I could give a crap about the name of the very minor bowl game and perhaps you might get it if you might expand your universe of understanding humor.  Of course I know that it is the Champs Sports Bowl because I am watching it with a bunch of NCSU alumni, but you apparently could not get that part.

I sincerely wish you the best with your contemporary understanding of traditonal university sports.

Sorry, I just don't think anyone wants to read a post that includes:

"Oregon (The University of, University of or whatever of anything of whatever)"

"WTF?  WTF Phil Knight's influence on Ducks' ball?"

"They are wearing some uniforms in tonight's whatever bowl...Is this Slut University Sports?"

"but oh shit when the Domers really really need a victory before the old alumni crap their pants they wear green and some form of gold.  This is yet another slut college."

Maybe it's just me...

3:  It's a generic joke not actually intended to be a stab at your mother.

4:  I plan to live at least another 60 years thank you very much.

This isn't the first time I've said this to someone, and I'm sure it won't be the last, but...

You're either dumb, have way too much time on your hands, or both.

Nothing more or less, so go wild with your crazy responses.

The assholic combinations of Nike uniforms are absurd.  The response that my post engendered simply displayed what a bunch of dufundi respond to simple posts.

By the way, you have one very ugly cat.
