I am #65 on the list, I wonder how many people who signed it are actually Michigan State fans.

Why do you want him gone? That's like wanting Charlie out of South Bend. (Ok, maybe not that bad.)

There is nothing worse for a program than constant coaching turnover. Why has Notre Dame been so bad/mediocre over the past 15 year? Among many reasons, the coaching carousel has to be the biggest.
I don't actually think Dantonio should be fired or pretend this petition will have 0.1% of influence on the MSU brass, but it would be funny to see how many people sign this thing that have no affiliation with MSU at all.

I think it's in our best interest as Michigan fans to have Dantonio as the head coach of MSU for the time being.

Before we decide to fire him, lets see if he has the brass to pull off a 3-9 season.
If he wins more than 4 times, I say kick'em to the curb.

They can hire anybody they want because Notre Dame, (French pronunciation: [nɔtʁ dam]; Our Lady) is a term referring to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Anyone who is elected is obligated to coach but there is a two-thirds vote needed by the Sacred College of Alumni. Once he has been chosen the alumni burn their ballots to signal that a new coach has been chosen. He must then choose a new Catholic name for himself and elect an assistant coach. Finally, he will reside in the City-State of South Bend until he is replaced.

I say we start a "Re-hire John Cooper" petition.

A bring back John L. would be just as entertaining. It wouldn't be as nice as beating OSU, but the antics of Smith has its own entertainment value.

Ah, John L. I remember when I called him on the phone after they beat Wisonsin in 2004. I thanked him on behalf of all Michigan fans for putting us in the Rose Bowl. The memories...

I was a bigger Bobby Williams fan myself, but to each his own.

...the ultimate expression of sports-fan-as-internet-futility?
If I am not mistaken, there is a 'Fire Charley Weis' website. And a 'Fire Tressel' website.
We all know that there is a 'FireRRod' website. That one, as far as I can tell, is run by some sports publicity guy in, uh, Pennsylvania. And quite rightly, we Michigan fans look at it, and wonder, "wtf"?
Is there a "Fire Les Miles" website? "FireUrbanMeyer"? Fire Mark Richt -dot-com? I presume that all are in the affirmative. To the extent that I am a Michiganian, I suppose I have every bit as much a right to lobby for the firing of Mark D'Antonio as George Perles or Greg Kelser would have a right to lobby for the firing of Rich Rodriguez. Which is, uh, not much.

Internet irony/sarcasm is so prevalent, but no one ever seems to recognize it.
Both of them need their own HTML tags.

Because it was so much better before him? How quickly they forget.

Let's stay on the sidelines and allow MSU to self-destruct on its own. Sparty doesn't need our help.

Who do you want instead? The guy is mediocre. It's perfect the way it is.

The comments on the petition are priceless.
