I thought it was weird that he'd be the #19 S in the country and only be three stars. Perhaps they stole my thought through internets osmosis

I think that next time you should just sack up and post without any modifier (other than perhaps OT). The negs you might get for something that was already posted are a good way of encouraging people to use the MGoSearch and limiting repetition on the board. Plus, once you're over the threshold for new posts, who cares about MGoPoints?

It was just recently he was upgraded. It was pointed out in another thread in the last couple days that he got it, and I had happened to check Scout the day before that to see that he was the highest rated 3-star.

Any idea how recent this upgrade was?

We are entering a new phase of recruiting obsession. Whereas player rankings and commitment announcement dates once sufficed to tide us over, we have now graduated on to dates of changes in recruiting rankings.

We very much agree on the ridiculousness of the fan reaction to the recruiting process.  But at some point, you can be right and still be tagged as "flamebait." (cough cough SECTION 1 cough)

The the Manatees of the Blogosphere have declared recruiting rankings to be important. I bow to their wisdom.

EDIT: Holy shit man, I conflated you with jg2112, who has been on an anti-recruiting bender for a while.  Epic Fail in South Bend.  Forgiveness please.

He's got an Alabama to compliment an excellent offer sheet. Eventually, the services had to make him a four star. The schools are the real judges of talent.

This seems like a completely legitimate ratings jump.  Choosing Michigan over Rutgers provides a lot of new data about Morgan's decision-making ability.  I'm just surprised that didn't get him to 5 stars.

This happened shortly after the Wayne Morgan post yesterday.  When the Wayne Morgan post went up, I checked where he was at on Scout, and he was a 3 star but the highest ranked 3 star safety.  Not three hours later, he was a four star on Scout.  This was sometime between 4:30pm and 7:30pm PST.

It looks like Scout was also changing the position listing for some players. Ojemudia has been moved from DT to DE and Godin from DE to DT. No change in star rankings for either of them. Ojemudia is however now listed on the ESPN150 watch list.

The Scout top 300 has changed a little bit. The only decent sized move for any Michigan commit was Bolden going from 252 up to 237. Not bad.
