SIAP Possible Frank Clark Injury

Submitted by jbibiza on

Heard a rumor that Frank Clark was not traveling to Nebraska due to an ankle injury.  Anyone have confirmation one way or the other?

Oh come on, Frank! If you're gonna get into legal trouble and get yourself suspended, the least you can do is not get injured once you come back! Not very considerate.

I can't confirm directly because Frank's twitter account is protected and I don't follow him, but rumor has it that he confirmed it on his twitter account.

Frank Clark is on the depth chart at starting DE for the game per the notes on MGoBlue - (Go to page 15) - and numerous searches yielded nothing current. Not sure when the depth chart was published, of course. I assume it was earlier in the week.

On Instagram he posted a pic and the caption said he wasn't going to Neb... Earlier in the week when he had the boot, he said it wasn't a big deal an that he was playing...

Doesn't seem like a very serious injury if it was a late week decision

Never want to see a guy get hurt, but Mario Ojemudia has been playing well. And our rotation is set at WDE and all 4 (kind of 5) guys are capable of being effective at the position.

WDE against run first teams/in run situations:

1. Brennen Beyer

2. JiBreel Black

3. Frank Clark

4. Mario Ojemudia / Jake Ryan

WDE against pass heavy teams/in pass situations:

1. Frank Clark

2. Mario Ojemudia

3. Jake Ryan

4. Brennen Beyer / JiBreel Black

I think we're going to have to outscore Nebraska a little bit. Problem is, Denard has been terrible on the road under Hoke and we may try to win it with defense and special teams --- never allowing the offense to get into a rythym with conservative playcalling.

I think we have a legit shot at winning a 34-20 type game. But if we have a conservative/don't mess up mindset. Look for something more like 24-20.

In the end, a win is a win...but I hope we go out, play OUR game and get some road confidence (that we'll need @ Ohio) by beating the brakes off the Huskers.

I suppose it would be a newly divorced woman who, after 15 years of marriage, returns to the slutty ways of her college years. I have actually seen this to be a relatively common phenomenon for divorced women in their 40's. (just a helpful tip for any MGoCougarHunters)

I can counteract that with the fact that Hoke & Mattison have a losing road record: 3 road wins and 4 road losses during the regular season.

On top of that, we have not beaten a team with a winning record on the road; NW and Illinois finished the season last year at 6-6, and Purdue is now 3-4. All of our defeats on the road have come at the hands of teams with winning records: Iowa and MSU last year, and Alabama and ND this year.

I agree that a coaching staff that's this early in its tenure still has plenty of time left to establish what its true baseline is for season-by-season achievement. However, based purely on the results so far in 1.5 seasons, I think it's premature to assume that a road victory at Lincoln is in the bag.

is a potential playmaker, especially as a pass rusher.  We could use him big time on 3rd & long situations as a pass rusher.

I love the long-term prospects for Clark since we have him two more years.  Hope he continues to fly straight, and I'm confident that he will.  Get well soon, Frank.

On another note, I posted last week that Jake Ryan = THOR.  I was talking about or D today, and Jake MF'n Ryan, and my daughter says "is he cute"?  I searched google for a pic of him and found this:

EDIT: Daughter's reply is "he's okay".  I told her I don't care about that, but he's a BMFn linebacker.
