shit. Dorsey, and Parker come on down!

When asked what put him over the top, Knight replied, "My overwhelming desire to play on Thursday nights."
Live from the Hammock District.
FWIW Sam Webb today said that he talked to Knight and that Knight said he HAS NOT committed to Rutgers.
Several sources contradict him.
him nothing but the best...
So actuallly a kids mom decides where the kid is going to school. If that is true we should be good for Dorsey since his parents were blown away by the in home visit from 5 coaches
Hail Yes
was a short, white dude-looks-like-a-lady type?? Maybe Schiano makes some damn fine baked goods like some anis pizzelles.
The reason for the world, is to make us long for HOME.
he was announcing tomorrow. If its true than its his loss. Who the hell will watch him at Rutgers his mom and the other five people that go to their games?!
I was really hoping to close the class with two 4 star safeties....this would've been a great way to close.
I'd always thought that the two most likely to to come were Knight and Parker (based on what I've heard of the situation and my "gut" feeling.)
Good luck to Knight at Rutgers......hopefully we still close with two four star safeties, this time with Dorsey and Parker.
I like the Dorsey and Parker combo better than one with Knight, but we'll see what happens. There's still a lot that can happen between now and signing day.
is hoping for Dorsey, and Parker now. Pretty sure Parker is a lock but you never know.
You are getting hammered today, but you're asking for it.
Answering your own topic is a sure way to get a down vote.
Declaring "FAIL" to a fellow poster for posting something at the same time that you did is unnecessary, and rather childish.
Your attempt at damage control is ill advised.
You could have saved yourself some agony here by walking away. Daring people to down vote you will not end well.
All right Lemmings. Bring the heat.
This could give us a better shot at both Parker and Doresey now that they know Knight is out of the picture. Hopefully the coaches will ramp up the "immediate playing time" mantra.
Sucks to lose a recruit to Rutgers, but what can you do? Such is the football landscape these days. It seems they want him to play corner, maybe that was the difference. From wikipedia:
The Scarlet Knights have only had one player drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft. In 2009, Kenny Britt was chosen No. 30th overall by the Tennessee Titans in the NFL draft. Britt, an Associated Press All-America selection, is the first player in Rutgers history to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. Britt becomes the sixth Scarlet Knight drafted in the last three years. It also marked the third consecutive year that a Scarlet Knight has been taken on the draft’s first day after Brian Leonard (2007) and Ray Rice (2008) were both second round draft selections.
We have two first day picks in this draft, what makes Rutgers a better pro talent producer?
Whatever, it doesn't matter now. All the best to him.
producer, but Schiano can get guys to the NFL.
The mistake I believe that he is making is going against inferior WRs in practice and DBs in games (BE vs. B10).
"They're stuck with that quarterback (sophomore Braxton Miller) for the next two or three years, that's fine with me. He throws worse than (Tim) Tebow. - Steve Everitt
He said that the recent trend of Rutgers producing NFL players helped sell him on the program. It didn't start very well, however, for the Scarlet Knights in trying to land Knight.
ray rice 3rd round kenny britt??
all we do is send DB's to the freaking NFL
w/e good luck
We will have our vengeance- Michigan football 2010
In their defense, Rutgers produced a guy named Ray Rice who is also doing pretty well right now.
I would have to think that, while Knight knows Rutgers can send players to the NFL, citing it as an example as to why he chose the school is fairly foolish when zero of the drafted prospects out of Rutgers played defense. Akin to Demar Dorsey picking Michigan because Chad Henne was drafted from here.
But I don't think we should put too much stock into why a recruit says he is going to a school. Remember all the kids who say academics is really important to them...and then choose Ole Miss.
Very unexpected and I believe he is making the wrong decision, but I wish him the best in all his endeavors.
I always felt he wouldn't sign with us. I was hoping, but I just had this gut feeling that Michigan had not made the sale. Good luck to the kid, wish him luck.
I hope go God we get Parker...and Dorsey? I don't want to get my hopes up.

We lost out on a great kid. I was really buying into his stock these past couple weeks and hoping he would commit. But I'm happy for the kid and hope he does well in his endeavors.
Good Luck Rashad, we wish you the best.

I'm okay with this if it turns out he was squeezed out of M's class by numbers. One can dream.
Scarlet Knights; Rashad Knight. Conspiracy?
knight's going to be the gem of rutgers class by a mile
based on this recent 2010 recruit article on Rivals that was written just prior to his announcement...

TOP RECRUITING DISAPPOINTMENTS IN 2010
Every year it seems a team with a strong recruiting pedigree in the past struggles on the recruiting trail for some reason. Rivals.com takes a look at five teams that disappointed in 2010.
RUTGERS
Rutgers has been one of the most compelling stories the past few years in college football, but the Scarlet Knights failed to grab the attention of the recruits this season, finishing outside of the national top 70. As of Sunday night, Rutgers had 17 commits with only 10 of those ranked as three-star players. There were no four or five-star prospects in the class and the Knights were last in the conference. A lot of the top talent in the state - something Rutgers had turned the program based on - didn't jump on board either. Only one player in the New Jersey top 10 picked the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers is having a good day. They just picked up their second 4-star commitment of the day in WR Brandon Coleman, who picked them over the likes of WVU and Notre Dame.
