I love the hire and actually believe the motives were pure.

I can't believe we haven't had a "team mom" in Schembechler Hall to this point. It's a amazing that Harbaugh has only been here a short time and you can already feel a positive change towards innovation.

I really love this position. Alot of forsight initiated this, and with the right person doing it, can provide a tremenous advantage to out program.

Some people might question the legitimacy of the hire, but is is pure genius!!! To get a wonderful nurturing woman named "Mama G" to be there for incoming student athletes, most who may be the first to go to college (thus, maybe not the greatest support system) or be the farthest away from home they have ever been is nothing but a phenomenal resource for the kids and athletic dept.

If people put their cynicism aside for a second, they would see that her son while a good player, is not a top 20 HS senior who has 3 - 5 years with the program, he only has 1 year and JH would not hire someone for that position for only a 1 year stint, that would do more harm than good.  Nice hire!

It's easy to read into her as an over-bearing mom, but with her son seeming to have no issues with her comming along, it seems like she is just cautious enough to make sure her son goes somewhere he could get EVERYTHING: education and a shot at the NFL.

This position seems amazing, and Ms. Bush seems like the perfect fit.

In related news, this is more proof that Harbaugh Gets It™ .

I got my SI copy this weekend with the full Harbaugh article.  I hate to say it (I REALLY hate to say it), but Rosenberg did a nice job.  There, I said it.  Now I'm going to go take a shower because I feel dirty.

When she was first hired, I thought it was a good idea. The more I learned about her process during Lyons' recruitment, the more I think it was a phenomenal idea. She's going to be able to relate to the parents and answer any questions they may have about things outside of football.

This is a great hire.  I think it helps with all recruits, but even more with out of state recruits/ parents.  I think out of state parents will feel better that a team Mom is there for the kids and the parents can contact the team Mom if they have concerns or want to check on their child.

Her education background is a great fit.  We are recruiting out of state more and this move will help support that.

Plus, Bush now also had the experience of a parent whose child had played high-level college football while completing a demanding degree program. As a bonus, she had worked in the Broward County school system in a variety of positions for 27 years. She had administrative experience. She would be perfect for Harbaugh’s version of the director of player development position.

The experience in education definitely helps, but that in combination with the first part of this shows you that she knows well what these kids go through because her own kid has and still is as he plays his final year of eligibility. I know that there was cynicism even on this board when the hire was first announced, but it really does make a lot of sense.

it would be interesting to see whether Mario Edwards Sr. and Shea Patterson last long at FSU/Ole Miss.  It does seem shortsighted to hire a parent/family member to get one recruit.  I think it's a great hire regardless of whether Mama G's contacts in South Florida help get a single recruit.

I thought this was a great hire, and a tremendous asset to the program.

To be honest, I completely forgot about her son until somebody posted his official transfer a few days ago.  This goes way beyond getting a kid to transfer here.

I think this was a game changing hire. Harbaugh had enough foresight to see that this would not only help with future recruits but also the players on the current team who need that motherly figure on campus to speak to when they're going through certain things.

if she is going to give parents of potential recruits her list with "This is what i sent to schools that were recruiting my son.  It really helped.  Feel free to use it.  By the way, here are the Michigan answers."
