SI Andy Staples: Cheating for DUMMIES
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/andy_staples/07/05/cheati…
Useful and hilarious article by Staples on the rules head coaches should follow so they do not get caught by the NCAA.
1. Pay in Cash
2. No Paper Trail
3. Pay Off Everyone
4. Use the IRS Blackmail Card
5. Plausible Deniability (this immediately reminded me of The Wire)
6. Use Prepaid Cellphones (Staples actually references The Wire)
7. Always Pay in Cash
it just seems more and more like organized crime...
Seems?
We'd like you to consider attending The University of Ohio State to complete your matriculation process whilst playing football.......
Unrelated but I was talking to my buddy the other day about the E Street Band and specifically that Steven Van Zandt is the best actor in the world to go from the huge dork he is in real life:
to the completely terrifying character of Silvio Dante.
I would respectfully disagree. Given his carefully cultivated image as a God-fearing, upstanding pillar of society along with his recent book in which he claimed the moral and ethical high ground over the rest of common society I would argue this guy is the "best actor in the world".
touche salesman, touche
This picture looks much better like this:
Sounds vaguely familiar.
Dork? The man's personal style is questionable, but he's hardly a dork. I love his radio show, btw.
What, no f**king ziti?
They have a article of Shane at the 7 on 7 camp down in Florida the past week on gobluewolverine..Pretty nice throws in the highlight video
He's got point. Why leave a paper trail when you know you're cheating?
You should also make sure you delete incriminating documents off your computer.
is that he apparently didn't realize that when you delete something from the server, it's not deleted at all. (This is also true re: your local drive, but at least in that case the files won't show up in any sort of regular search.)
So obviously the NCAA can get to your umich.edu or osu.edu (lol at the edu) but let's JT used his gmail account or whatever. He'd be safe right?
Also, +1 to the Tommy Boy reference.
Optimize your drive after you do it though.....and even this is not a guarantee. OSU just needed a tech-savvy coach, but that would have delayed his firing by....oh....a week while they did a thorough scrubdown of the ol' hard drive.
Deleting incriminating documents probably won't help. If you have incriminating documents on your computer, you've probably already broken a few of the other rules in order to get them there.
Staples can be really funny when he wants to. Normally, though, he is tepid at best. I wish he would do a weekly sarcasm or mock-heroic column like Wojo.
smash your computer and throw it in a bonfire.
