Hey, remember this summer when there was a rumor that Denard cut off his dreads and got a fade? What a crazy day...
September 7th, 2010 at 8:18 PM ^
I wish he would (both tie his shoes and cut his hair) .
...Long hair and untied shoes aren't a good idea when in combat IMO. I guess he's special enough to get away with it.
The hair worked out ok for the Predator I suppose... Although, it could be the reason Arny got his ass.

Yeah whatever old hat. New hat says that long hair and untied shoes is cool.
September 7th, 2010 at 10:42 PM ^
Cool doesn't give a shit what's "cool".
I was expecting the negs though (see above).
September 7th, 2010 at 9:18 PM ^
don't fix it.
September 7th, 2010 at 9:16 PM ^
Damn an aerodynamic dilithium fuelled Denard with the Lil Boosie fade would be scary.
September 7th, 2010 at 10:10 PM ^
Desmond?
September 7th, 2010 at 7:07 PM ^
Maybe tying his shoes would be like Stonum getting contacts, and he would be even faster.

A dynamic duo if I've ever heard of one.

The big play was right in front of us, and we nearly dropped it!
September 7th, 2010 at 7:08 PM ^
If opposing players are purposely trying to take his shoe off shouldn't this be unsportsmanlike conduct and be penalized as such? And even if not a personal foul, couldn't it be deemed delay of game and a penalty for that?
September 7th, 2010 at 7:09 PM ^
...pulling someone's pants down, but it should elicit a penalty.
September 7th, 2010 at 8:13 PM ^
Maybe this is a stupid question... but you can actually get a penalty for doing that??
September 7th, 2010 at 7:11 PM ^
Well, if it's at the bottom of a pile, who is going to call it?
September 7th, 2010 at 7:17 PM ^
true. it seems like it would be a delay of game penalty, but like joeyb said, how do you prove it? The ref pretty much has to see it.
September 7th, 2010 at 8:06 PM ^
but don't touch the shoes! It got pretty intense in the middle of the pile in high school. I'm sure they are better behaved at the D-1 level.
I would be far more concerned about someone trying to twist his ankle than worrying about a delay of game.

don't step on my Maize and Blue Suede shoes.

He doesn't have to tie his shoes so its not like it takes him a while to put them back on and velcro them back down.
September 7th, 2010 at 7:08 PM ^
Well if teams are going to start taking his shoes off to slow the offense down then he certainly needs to at least tighten the velcro. But if it makes Denard uncomfortable in any way, shape, or form, then he should just keep em' flappin baby!!
September 7th, 2010 at 7:14 PM ^
in his press conference when he was asked if he was gonna tie them gainst ND he siad he aint changing a thing.
September 7th, 2010 at 7:16 PM ^
...that Rudy took one look at Denard in the MIch/UCONN game and told Notre Dame to just give up. A story like that's gotta be true!
September 7th, 2010 at 7:21 PM ^
This reminds me of about 10-15 years ago when our good friends in East Lansing had these spats put over their shoes with little zippers on them. They accused so many oponents of unziping them that they finally stopped wearing them. It was probably true because after every play alot of guys had to bend over and zip them up. Hilarious.
September 7th, 2010 at 7:56 PM ^
The Spartan marching band stepped out onto the field that day to "Puttin' on the Ritz", so it was all good.
September 8th, 2010 at 8:42 AM ^
Denard knows how to tie his shoes, he just chooses not to.
September 7th, 2010 at 7:30 PM ^
Yeah, it's a cute story and all, but his ankles need all the support they can get. He's going to be a marked man.
September 7th, 2010 at 7:37 PM ^
Sampson cut his hair. That worked out, right?
September 7th, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
Did that for a woman. If DRob's got a girlfriend, (or other Significant Other - NTTAWWT) and that person is the cause of this, said S.O. needs to be shown the door forthwith.
September 7th, 2010 at 7:41 PM ^
Damn it...
September 7th, 2010 at 7:42 PM ^
Well, a couple of guys at a local paper could supply the jaw bone of an ass.
September 7th, 2010 at 7:53 PM ^
or something like that.
September 7th, 2010 at 9:43 PM ^
When his shoe came off during the UCONN game i was thinking it was like every other player and was going to take a little bit of time to put the shoe back on, then i remembered thats DROB, and he Proceeds to put his cleats on like a house shoe… I would think tying your shoes would be better for your overall foot health… But F it , if it aint broke dont fix it now!
September 7th, 2010 at 10:11 PM ^
Runs a 4.32 without shoes tied, will he be a 4.1 with his shoes tied?
September 7th, 2010 at 10:42 PM ^
That's where DRob gets his power! That and his dreads. That would be like cutting Sampson's hair.

You don't tug on Superman's cape,
You don't spit in the wind,
You don't pull the mask off the Ol' Lone Ranger,
And you don't mess around with Slim!

...like 3rd quarter vs. OSU. If Denard is ever instructed to tie his shoes, it needs to resemble Mick telling Rocky to go back to fightin' southpaw.
...or maybe the issue is moot;
