Shawn Hunwick is a Legend

Submitted by South Bend Wolverine on

Inspired by The Blog That Yost Built's description of last night's game, and shocked by the lack of any Hunwick fan groups of Facebook, I went ahead and created one named "Shawn Hunwick is a Legend." Hunwick may want to deflect attention off of himself onto the team, but we all know that without him, we're nowhere right now.

This should be the link, sorry about my lack of doing it right: http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=104581059573062&ref=nf

Couldn't agree more. The minute he stepped onto the ice, Michigan started, not just beating, but destroying teams they've struggled with all season.

BTW, anyone know what happened to Summers and what his status is going forward?

isn't that the million dollar question...
Official report, I believe, is a stretched ligament and a charlie horse on the right knee from a hit about halfway through the first period against LSSU, the Saturday game. Last I heard he hadn't even tried skating yet, which is probably bad for him skating next weekend. I know Red doesn't like to (or just doesn't) play people if they haven't practiced by, I think Wednesday, so that's the latest we'd know for sure if Summers would be in this weekend, the earlier we hear something the better, because that means he probably skated and he's probably feeling OK. Last I heard he was still limping pretty significantly, but that's just what I have heard, I can't confirm or deny the validity of that. But obviously that's bad. I've heard a few positive rumblings but less of them and equally unfounded. I tried to see how he was moving after the game Saturday but from the student section I just couldn't tell. Hopefully he gets better soon, kid deserves to be playing. And he's good...

If he is better, does he replace Tristin, Pateryn or Moffie? Or, does Red not mess with what has gotten him this far and doesn't play him? Earlier I was thinking that even Summers at 100% would play if he could, but now I think that unless he's completely healthy he doesn't go.
It seems like our defense has been quite a bit more aggressive, at least from the games at the Joe, in which case he takes Pateryn's place, but Moffie replaced Summers in the first place. Other than the first period against State, Tristin's been playing really well, so I think he stays in regardless.

Yay for idle speculation... Please, please, please, please, please let Summers be recovered :-(
