Watching the replay of the NE/Phil pre season game right now. I have not been impressed with Crable, playing second string at LB for NE. I could not find any camp updates on him. Anyone on the board follow his progress this year??
Shawn Crable - New England
I try to keep tabs on all the recent Michigan players in the NFL, but I haven't heard anything about crable. It doesn't look like he's made much of an impact so far
So far I've heard he hasn't done anything on the field for the Patriots.
Reports are that he will be a solid back-up for New England this year.
his legs are still super super skinny in proportion to his upper body.
Wasn't he on offense when he played in college? Oh wait, he was just offsides so much that it felt like it.
He started camp on the PUP list following off-season surgery. He spent most of camp last year on the sidelines injured, was deactivated for every game and ended up on IR at mid-season.Not a very productive start to his career.
Right now he's trying to catch up to the other linebackers scheme wise and with his conditionning. Being that he missed a lot of camp last year, didn't play at all during the year, and missed the beginning of this camp, he better do well on special teams if he wants to stick around, even with the OLB depth issue. Another former Wolverine, Pierre Woods, is in front of him on the depth chart.
