Shaw Rage
Although Wendy's is awesome(#7 with no tomato and a mountain dew), I figured I would take up some board space and talk about some Michigan Football and how impressed I was with the way Shaw ran last week and how that bodes well for us in the future.
If I was more savvy with the interwebs I would link the play, but when Shaw took that swing pass for about 20yds and was horse collard down against UConn it reminded me of Minor Rage. I think that Shaw gleaned a lot from Brandon and it looks like he might be emulating Minor's style of running going forward. He still likes to dance a little(which I think is his original style), but he showed signs of straight murder against UConn.....and I love to see that.
I hope to see a great performance from Shaw today. He will be the player of the game IMO because of all the hype over Denard.
That being said I love me some V Smith. That guy is shifty and fun to watch. They both are going to have to rack up some yards for us to get a W. GO BLUE!

He tends to jump around parallel to the line of scrimmage looking for a hole. It makes me nervous because he often gets tackled at the line of scrimmage. Minor didn't jump around as much, he would just plow forward and carry a few defenders on his way upfield.

That would be a nice "headline"...
Sounds like Shaw.. Smith.. and when healthy, Fitz... will carry the load.

Shaw was given the ball in some poor situations last week, and he did well just to get back to the LOS or net a small gain. The only play I'd criticize would be the one where he went backwards. I'm sure this was covered by the coaches. I give him a B+ for UConn.
Smith is solid and fun to watch too. Great to see a 'stable' of backs again at UM, and I love that we have speedsters and bruisers. Looking forward to seeing Fitz when he's ready.

I'm still itching to see what Toussaint can do...I've heard so many good things about him. It's a shame he is hurt and can't play today.

...because Roh and Lewan soaks his jock strap in liquid heat before games???

I like V Smith simply because he seems to be the least likely to post a negative play. He gets up field, is balanced enough to make people miss in the open field, and isn't afraid to put a shoulder into someone. I think he's our clear cut #1 if he hadn't lost so much time with the knee.

I've always like Shaw as well. I don't think he rages close to minor, but he is definitely a solid back. Vincent Smith is also fun to watch, but mainly because of how small he is and btw the #7 at Wendy's is pretty delicious.

...stop f**king around and HIT THE HOLE!
