Fitz was questionable for the past two weeks, which leads me to believe is more of a nagging injury then something serious.  I believe it's a lower body injury, I'm sure one of our MgoBloggers has some more info on it.

then I don't think they would have him back there fielding punts particularly with last year's fiasco.

With Roundtree, Grady, and T-Rob in the slot and TEs stepping up their play so far, Gallon is kind of the odd man out. He just has to bide his time. It's a long season, injuries can happen, so I'm sure we will see him out there at some point.

Yeah, because Vincent Smith is soooo slow.

Maybe what we need is to not put in a speed-back to run between the tackles.  Was anyone else curious as to why we kept sending V Smith up the middle?  I thought it was bizarre the first time I saw it.  By the third time I saw it, I was yelling Stephen Hopkins' name at the TV.

Smith is not a speed back. (Don't assume that just because a RB is small, he's automatically a burner.)  He gets yards with his quick feet and cutting ability, but not so much his speed.

We need to do some running between the tackles. It's an important part of the offense. That helps to open up the outside game and vice-versa. Our big problem was just that ND's defensive tackles are tough.  They gave our interior linemen all they could handle.

Man, his holding calls were frusterating though.  Hopefully RR works on that this week.  I brought up this topic because I think Gallon should get on the field more with his speed.  I anticipate that the next week or two will provide a heated competition for carries.

boys are busting their asses off, and you say bear hugs.  Come on now, sure still have practice tackling.  But its there, they have swagger and play with pride.  Even giving up a big play, the next one wanted to do their assigment.  Help the team win! U of M is 2-0 and ranked, all this with a young depleted D.  Hoka Hey!

I think Shaw's probably fine -- he just had his bell rung.

I'm hoping to see Toussaint this week.  Maybe?  Pretty please?

Wondering why the other backs aren't getting the carries. Probably a stupid question as I havent gotten to watch the game in total (had to work to... uh, keep my job) but I wonder why Hopkins and Cox didn't see more playing time.

After the slide where he was eventually ruled out of bounds, Shaw was tripped up by a linebacker and popped in the face with the helmet of a fat DT (probably Williams). When he took his helmet off, his lip was bleeding. Probably a little dizzy afterward; likely 100% tomorrow.
